The residue removal device may include a receptacle adapted for collecting material from sides and bottom of a vessel. The receptacle may include a material collecting channel formed by two side walls connected along a base at an angle, an open top, a distal end, and a proximal end. The residue removal device may further include an elongated shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, and the distal end of the shaft may be connected to the base of the receptacle and offset in a first direction from the proximal end of the shaft. The open top may also be offset from the base of the receptacle in the first direction.
