Abstract: A hop extract obtained from the female hop cones of certain varieties of hops, primarily includes the following prenylflavanoid constituents: xanthohumol, isoxanthohumol and 8-prenylnaringenine, in defined weight proportions. The extract is used in the production of a medicament having estrogenic properties, used to treat physiological disorders related to perimonopause or menopause such as hot flashes. The medicament can also be used in dietary compositions of food supplements and cosmetic compositions.
