  • Patent number: 7457268
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the allocation of packets on a carrier containing timeslots, comprising the step of defining an interleaving length and an allocation window characterized in that packets are allocated within groups defined by the power needed for the transmission and that the size of groups is at most equal to the interleaving length.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 10, 2004
Date of Patent: November 25, 2008
    Assignee: Alcatel
Inventors: Cédric Baudoin, Jacques Bousquet, Guillaume Calot, Cédric Lapaille
  • Patent number: 7184775
Abstract: A telecommunication system in which a plurality of terminals communicate with a base station or a connection station and a management unit determines the allocation of resources for calls from each terminal to the connection station. At least some of the terminals include a plurality of connections. Calls are effected by means of cells or packets. The allocation of resources is determined cell by cell or packet by packet in each connection. The management unit allocates communication resources to each terminal according to the total number of cells or packets waiting in each terminal and a weighting coefficient allocated to each terminal. The allocation of resources by the management unit is independent of the number of connections of each terminal. Each terminal allocates resources to each connection according to the overall resources allocated to it by the management unit and a weighting coefficient allocated to each connection of the terminal.

  • Patent number: 7042966
Abstract: A method for estimating a signal-to-noise ratio, in particular digital, received by a radio communication receiver. The method includes estimating separately the signal and the noise and filtering (36, 44) separately the signal (Eb) and the noise (N0) before carrying out the division (40) of the signal from the noise. The noise filtering is for example of the statistical type, whereas the signal filtering is of the low-pass filtering type.

  • Patent number: 6539214
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of estimating the noise power of a given digital signal (cell1) assigned a code, this signal being received by a receiver (56) simultaneously with a plurality of other digital signals assigned different codes. The noise powers are estimated for each of the received digital signals (cell1, cell2, . . . cellM) assigned codes and there is assigned, to the given signal, the mean noise power (62) which is the ratio between, on the one hand, the sum of the estimated noise powers and, on the other hand, the total number M of received codes.
