    Abstract: The invention seeks to provide an improved wiper blade assembly, and in a broad aspect provides a windscreen wiper blade assembly comprising at least a primary yoke and a pair of secondary yokes articulated thereto, the primary yoke and/or the secondary yokes being provided with at least one wind-deflecting surface, oriented in relation to the direction of motion of the vehicle so that when said vehicle is moving to create air flow over the windscreen, air is deflected by said surface or surfaces to produce a force tending to urge the wiper blade assembly towards the windscreen of the vehicle. And end cap is provided for accommodating the ends of the secondary yokes and the of the backing member and wiper blade rubber. A connector disposed within the primary yoke accommodates different size diameter pins of different sized wiper arms.

    Abstract: A wiper blade assembly for mounting on the end of a wiper arm and engaging a windshield has a main yoke generally pivoted at a central pivot on the wiper arm and having a pair of outer ends, respective upper and lower secondary yokes pivoted at outer axes on the outer ends of the main yoke and having inner and outer ends, and respective tertiary yokes pivoted on the outer ends of the secondary yokes. The tertiary yokes have inner and outer ends formed as blade holders and the inner ends of the secondary yokes are also formed as blade holders. A wiper blade carried in the holders and engageable against a windshield. An outer wind-deflecting aerodynamic vane is carried on each secondary yoke between the respective outer end and the respective outer pivot and an inner wind-deflecting aerodynamic vane is carried on each secondary yoke between the respective inner end and the respective outer pivot.

The refill unit comprises an elongate backing strip for carrying at least one flexible wiping element and having outwardly extending side flanges adapted to be slidably received by the claw members and a clip detachably securable at different selected positions along the length of the backing strip. The clip has spaced apart resiliently deflectable legs each of which has latching means with outwardly projecting feet interengageable with a selected one of a number of longitudinally spaced apart apertures formed in an elongate central portion of the backing strip between the side flanges thereof, such that the clip is not inadvertently dislodged from the strip.

    Abstract: An adapter for mounting a blade assembly on a wiper arm comprises an adapter body formed with a transverse adapter-body hole through which the pin is engageable, a latch for releasably retaining the pin in the hole, and a mount securing the body on the assembly over the blade hole thereof. The body is of U-section and embraces the blade assembly at the blade hole. In addition the body has a pair of side walls that form the mount and that flank the blade assembly at the blade hole. These side walls are formed with aligned holes and the blade assembly has at the blade hole lateral projections engageable in aligned holes. The projections in turn are annular collars coaxial with the blade hole.

A plastics latching member is located within a recess open to the underside of the central portion and in communication with the pivot pin receiving socket. The latching member has a resiliently deflectable abutment member which is movable into or out of a latching position in which it is received within an annular recess formed in the pivot pin. Sideways extending projecting portions of the latching member are provided to facilitate movement of the abutment member.
