  • Patent number: 9512279
Abstract: The present invention relates to a material as interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) associating a gel with a co-network of functionalized synthetic polymer and functionalized protein as well as a method of the manufacture of such a material. In particular, the invention relates to a material as interpenetrating polymer network associating a fibrin gel with a co-network of polyvinylalcohol and albumin thank to methacrylate bridges, with improved biodegradability properties.

  • Publication number: 20110230621
Abstract: A transparent, semi-interpenetrating network comprises a first phase of a linear noncrosslinked isobutene polymer and a second phase of a crosslinked polymer. The crosslinked polymer is obtained through copolymerization of a first ethylenically unsaturated monomer and of a second ethylenically unsaturated monomer, wherein the first ethylenically unsaturated monomer is a cycloalkyl(meth)acrylate and the second ethylenically unsaturated monomer is selected from linear and branched C1-C20 alkyl(meth)acrylates. By varying the ratio of the first ethylenically unsaturated monomer relative to the second ethylenically unsaturated monomer, the properties, such as vibration damping properties, of the semi-interpenetrating network can be controlled.

  • Publication number: 20100170636
Abstract: A description is given of a semi-interpenetrating network having a first phase of a linear noncrosslinked isobutene polymer and a second phase of a crosslinked polymer, wherein the crosslinked polymer is obtained by crosslinking molecular enlargement reaction in the presence of the isobutene polymer. The crosslinked polymer is preferably obtained by free-radical polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers comprising at least one polyethylenically unsaturated monomer. The networks are suitable as molding compounds having gas and moisture barrier effect or as adhesives.

  • Publication number: 20060270800
Abstract: A molding composition is described and comprises a mixture of interpenetrating polymers. A first phase comprises a crosslinked isobutene polymer, and a second phase encompasses a reinforcing polymer comprising (meth)acrylic and/or vinylaromatic units. The first phase is the reaction product of an isobutene polymer having an average of at least 1.4 functional groups in the molecule and of a crosslinking agent having an average of at least two functional groups in the molecule, the functionality of these being complementary to that of the functional groups of the isobutene polymer. The molding composition is particularly suitable for the roofing of buildings, or as impact-modified polystyrene or polymethyl methacrylate.
