  • Patent number: 11765119
Abstract: In certain embodiments, trigger-associated user messaging may be facilitated. In some embodiments, a first set of candidate users for messaging with a first user in connection with occurrence of a first trigger associated with the first user may be obtained. The first user may be monitored via one or more sensors for occurrence of the first trigger. A first occurrence of the first trigger may be determined based on the monitoring. Based on the first occurrence of the first trigger, the first set of candidate users may be accessed to initiate messaging between the first user and one or more users of the first set of candidate users. Messaging between the first user and a second user (of the first set of candidate users) may be initiated based on the second user having a higher priority than a third user of the first set of candidate users.

  • Patent number: 10984351
Abstract: A system for providing a reminder to a user is provided that stores reminder information relating to a task that the user wishes to be reminded about, along with activity information comprising information on activities that are considered to have an effect on the efficacy of the reminder associated with the task. The system monitors the user to determine if the activities in the activity information are being performed to produce a monitoring result, and then determines when to remind the user about the task based on the monitoring result by comparing the monitoring result to a threshold. A reminder alert is then output to the user when the monitoring result meets or exceeds the threshold.

  • Patent number: 10531838
Abstract: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the growing chronic respiratory diseases and is now a major cause of morbidity and mortality. Acute exacerbations have a negative impact on health related quality of life of COPD patients, survival rates, pulmonary function and utilization of health-care resources. The present application discloses an apparatus (100), system (1400), method (200), and computer program for assessing a risk of an exacerbation and/or hospitalization of a subject. To this extent, time-dependent activity data is Fourier-transformed to frequency space to obtain frequency-dependent activity data. Next, a moment of said frequency-dependent activity data is computed. Finally, a risk of said exacerbation and/or hospitalization of said subject to occur is assessed based on said moment.

  • Publication number: 20190056379
Abstract: This application relates to methods and apparatus for monitoring and predicting a cell count of at least one component of white blood cells, especially absolute neutrophil count (ANC), within a chemotherapy treatment cycle. The method comprises taking (102), within a treatment cycle, at least one measurement of a cell count of said white blood cell component of a subject; identifying (103) at least one modeled trajectory of white blood cell count that matches said at least one measurement for said subject; and based on said at least one modeled trajectory identifying (104) a likely cell count at a later date in the cycle and/or start of the next cycle. The step of identifying at least one modeled trajectory may comprise taking a reference set of trajectories that has been generated (101), and from said reference set, identifying a selection set of trajectories that matches the measurement data.

  • Patent number: 8841924
Abstract: The electrical properties of particle solutions can be investigated on a single particle basis by using micro fluidic channels. The impedance can be measured across the channel using at least one pair of conductive electrodes, at least one electrode of a pair being a fingered electrode having a plurality of fingers. The pattern of fingered electrodes creates a longer and more complicated measurement signal shape which leads to a significant improvement of measurement sensitivity. An application for the proposed technology is to significantly improve the measurement sensitivity of impedance measurements on blood cells, leading to a better differentiation between different types of white blood cells. Better measurement sensitivity also enables the measurement of smaller particles and higher throughput.

  • Patent number: 8473869
Abstract: The invention provides a method and a system for manipulating an image displayed on a screen (11), where an operator uses e.g. a finger to identify a region of interest (ROI) without touching the screen (11). The spatial position of the finger relative to the screen (11) is detected, i.e. its x, y and z coordinates. A region of interest (ROI) on the screen (11) including the two coordinates (x, y) is selected, and an image property such as contrast in the selected region of interest is changed in dependence on the distance (z) of the movable object (13) from the screen (11). The invention is ideal for manipulating medical images such as X-ray images, but applications in consumer electronics are also conceivable where image processing is performed.

  • Patent number: 7286118
Abstract: An integrated display and object sensing user input device is described. Display components and electric field sensing components are provided on a substrate. Also described is a sensing circuit for detecting current induced in a receiving electrode of an electric field sensing arrangement, wherein the sensing circuit employs two-phase charge accumulation. In operation, two effective circuit parts are selected alternately according to the phase of a voltage concurrently causing electric field emission, such that charge is accumulated in the same charge sense during operation of both effective circuit parts. Plural thin film electric field sensing circuits and electrodes may be arrayed to provide an object sensing array, usable as an input device.
