  • Patent number: 11628189
Abstract: A biodegradable lens-shaped patch useful for healing and treatment of ocular conditions is disclosed. The patch is formed from a biodegradable carrier which carries amniotic extract and/or placental extract. The lens-shaped patch may be shaped in the form of a conventional contact lens and it is applied to a corneal surface to enhance healing thereof. After a certain period of time, the patch dissolves on its own and it need not be removed from the eye by a clinician. In an embodiment, the patch includes a clear central section that may be refractory, and a biodegradable peripheral section.

  • Publication number: 20220218522
Abstract: A biodegradable multi-purpose lens-shaped patch useful for healing and treatment of ocular conditions is disclosed. The patch is formed from a biodegradable carrier such as collagen from a mammalian source or a poly (DL-lactide co-glycolide) copolymer carrier. The carrier supports an amniotic extract and/or placental extract active ingredient. The lens-shaped patch may be shaped in the form of a conventional contact lens and it is applied to a corneal surface to enhance healing thereof. After a period of time ranging from one to thirty days, the patch degrades and completely dissolves and need not be removed. The degradation time can be adjusted by the use of crosslinking agents such as riboflavin.

  • Publication number: 20210000881
Abstract: A biodegradable lens-shaped patch useful for healing and treatment of ocular conditions is disclosed. The patch is formed from a biodegradable carrier which carries amniotic extract and/or placental extract. The biodegradable carrier may be a collagen material. The lens-shaped patch may be shaped in the form of a conventional contact lens and s applied to a corneal surface to enhance healing of corneal injuries. After a certain period of time, the patch dissolves on its own and it need not be removed from the eye by a clinician. The degradation of the patch is controlled by the degree of cross-linking in the carrier material.

  • Patent number: 9295753
Abstract: A method for the producing a complex containing human or mammal's amniotic membrane/placental extract with or without collagen. Compositions containing the complexes and therapeutic methods using the complexes are provided. In addition, the invention relates to a method of controlling the absorption rates of amniotic membrane/extract and/or placental extract by combining any one of them with collagen having a desired degradation rate.
