Publication number: 20190164202Abstract: System and method for real time artificial intelligence based price determination are provided. An optimal sales price for an item on sale by a vendor is determined. The system determines a set of customer mobile device located inside an offer coverage area (OCA) of the vendor. Each customer mobile device of the set of customer mobile device has a mobile application installed therein. The system further determines a target customer list from the set of customer mobile device. The system refines the target customer list based on price, distance and other parameters defined in customer profiles. The system generates an optimal sales price for the item and makes price recommendations based on multiple multiplication factors. The system sends the offer recommendations to the set of refined target customer list.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2017Publication date: May 30, 2019Inventors: Sanjeev Sadanand Ukhalkar, Cem Yildirim

Patent number: 9804035Abstract: A thermometer has temperature sensing tip, a processor taking temperature readings and determining a sensed temperature reading of the living being from the temperature sensing tip. The thermometer also includes a display and a backlight for lighting the display. The backlight is activated upon a command from the processor and the processor determines whether to activate the backlight based upon the temperature readings. The method embodiment can includes the steps of using the processor to monitor a temperature change indicated by a temperature sensing element. The processor then detects a temperature decrease and activates a first color light emitting element to backlight a display if the temperature decrease exceeds or equals a predetermined threshold. The thermometer is operable in one of a plurality of selectable operating modes, and the predetermined threshold is dependent upon the selected operating mode. For example, operating modes may depend on patient age range or measurement location.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2016Date of Patent: October 31, 2017Assignee: Helen of Troy LimitedInventors: Aleksan Yildizyan, Rich Thrush, Kelly M. White, Amanda Jane Wilson, Ali Cem Yildirim, Richard McDuffie

Patent number: 6535513Abstract: A switch apparatus and method according to the invention implements a three stage switching process. Various types of media streams presented to the switch apparatus by the broadband and narrowband connections are adapted for switching by being converted to ATM cells and enqueued in corresponding virtual circuit (VC) queues. ATM cell switching is performed among the different cards based on the quality of service requirement for each virtual circuit. The switched ATM cells are then converted to the outgoing media types and outputted to the necessary broadband and narrowband connections. The switch apparatus and method is further adapted to perform rate shaping and traffic management so as to guarantee the quality of service for various media types (voice, video, data) and also minimize the traffic loss due to rate mismatch between narrowband and broadband connections during the burst period.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1999Date of Patent: March 18, 2003Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Ruey Kao, Cherng-Ren Sue, Cem Yildirim
