  • Patent number: 11980866
Abstract: The present invention describes the process of preparing ceramic materials for absorption of acidic gases, mainly carbon dioxide, in exhaust systems and/or present indoors. Ceramic materials are formed by a mixture of alkali carbonate with alkaline earth metal oxide/hydroxide associated with a binding component, but non-limiting. The alkali carbonate comprises sodium, potassium carbonate, or a mixture of both. The alkaline earth metal oxide/hydroxide may be formed from magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide as well as calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide.

  • Publication number: 20230302400
Abstract: The present invention describes a process for capturing CO2 using an optimized mixture of water and alcohols with alkali hydroxides, such as KOH and NaOH, for absorption of CO2 from gaseous mixtures. The process shows high efficiency and low volatility and corrosivity rate of the solvent, in addition to allowing cost reduction for installation and maintenance of reactors and reducing solvent loss. The present invention also describes a process for regenerating solvent or its reuse, carried out by chemical precipitation, continuously and not in batch, through the reaction with alkaline earth oxides, such as CaO and MgO, and/or alkaline earth hydroxides, such as Ca(OH)2 and Mg(OH)2, for the formation of carbonates, such as CaCO3 and MgCO3, which can be discarded in nature without any environmental issue or can be used commercially in industry or agriculture.

  • Publication number: 20200239754
Abstract: The present invention concerns a composition for suppressing formation and transmission of dust particles. Such de-dusting of particulate products has benefits in health and safety as well as preventing corrosive effects of dust particles. The composition comprises high quality glycerin substantially free of chloride and sulfate salts. Further uses for the compositions described herein are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10030130
Abstract: Polymeric blends of polystyrene (PS) and polylactic acid (PLA) are described, in the preparation of which a compatibilizing agent was added, preferably a PS-PLA block copolymer. Such compatibilizing agents act controlling phase separation of the blending compounds, and preventing excessive growth of polystyrene domains scattered in the PLA matrix; and this results in blends with good mechanical and thermal resistance.

  • Publication number: 20070131297
Abstract: A fluid leak detector is provided for a double carcass hose line segment and includes a sensor housing defined by sidewalls externally mounted to the hose line segment and having an internal housing chamber in communication with the collection space. An optical sensor is mounted through at least one sensor housing sidewall and positions an optical sensing element means within the sensor housing chamber for detecting a presence of fluid in the hose collection space. The optical sensor further includes analysis element means connecting to the optical sensing element means and positioned outside of the sensor housing one, wall, the analysis means generating data indicative of the fluid status within the hose collection space; and transmitter element means connecting to the analysis means for receiving data from the analysis element means and transmitting the data to at least one remote receiver.
