  • Patent number: 8066452
Abstract: An equipment for constructing micropiles in soil, includes a drilling rod with a bit with at least one nozzle jetting fluid forward, and at least one nozzle jetting fluid substantially orthogonal; an element pulling a protective tube, not adhering to the rod. A corresponding method includes drilling with a drilling rod jetting liquid in front of the bit until reaching stable soil strata; drilling and injecting high-pressure grout with one or more lateral nozzles, while the drilling rod rotates; pulling the protective tube, the tube being inserted to the area of grout injection; when the required depth is reached, the proximal end of the drilling rod is anchored to a plate; when the grout is consolidated, traction is applied to the drilling rod if necessary. Grout is injected into the protective tube.

  • Patent number: 7628565
Abstract: A drainage pipe to be inserted into the ground, presents a plurality of openings (5) for the passage of water, wherein each of the openings is closed by a cap (9) containing one or more holes (11) filled with water-soluble material (13), adapted to prevent the passage of debris during drilling, which the material dissolves in contact with the water in the soil. In particular, the caps have a hollow body (9) with a plurality of holes (11) in the wall for the passage of water, which the body and holes are filled with water-soluble material (13). Moreover, the caps present an undercut (12) on the end wall of the cavity, to prevent the exit of the water-soluble material (13) which fills the hollow body (9).

  • Publication number: 20090050026
Abstract: Treatment of concrete structures designed to protect the concrete and prevent corrosion of the reinforcing rods by external agents, which includes filling of the micropores and cracks with a waterproofing material consisting of a substance designed to fill said pores and cracks, thus preventing the passage of external agents. The treatment includes the following stages: the structures are placed in a chamber which can be sealed; a vacuum is created in said chamber; the structures are stored under vacuum for a pre-determined time; a filler designed to fill the pores and cracks in said structures is introduced into said chamber; pressure is applied for a pre-determined time. The material of the obtained structure, is highly compact, with no pores or openings through which water can penetrate and damage the concrete in case of frost. External agents cannot reach the reinforcement, which is thus perfectly protected.

  • Patent number: 7455480
Abstract: A method for the stabilization of slopes and/or terrain which are unstable or subject to landslides, by inserting drainage devices. A vertical shaft with a concrete lining or a microtunnel (1) is constructed and an automatic drilling unit (8) is position therein. The drilling unit has at least one drilling head (6), a magazine of rods (11), and robotic devices able to pick up the rods (12) from the magazine and take them to the drilling head, the rods (12) being constituted by the drainage pipes (5); the head is controlled to perform drilling operations, with simultaneous laying of the drainage pipe. The drainage pipes are constituted by a tubular steel element, whose walls contain holes which house a microfiltration valve filled with water-soluble material to prevent the passages from becoming obstructed during drilling; when the pipe has been laid, the water-soluble material dissolves, thus cleaning the passages.

  • Publication number: 20070286687
Abstract: A method and the corresponding equipment for constructing concrete micropiles of the type used for soil consolidation, which involves the use of a drilling rod which also acts as reinforcement for the pile, and injection of cement grout directly during drilling, the injection being performed from the surface downwards, that includes the following stages: soil drilling with a rod consisting of a drilling bar fitted at the tip with a bit equipped with nozzles, and simultaneous high-pressure injection of grout through said nozzles; when the bar has fully penetrated into the soil, connection of a second bar by means of a sleeve coupling and continuance of drilling with simultaneous grout injection; when the design depth has been reached, detachment of said rod, which is left in the ground to act as reinforcement for the pile thus constructed.

  • Patent number: 6375389
Abstract: A drainage device and method of inserting drainage devices in the ground characterized in that the ground is drilled in one or more places with a tubular drilling rod fitted with a bit and containing drainage slits in the side wall. When the required depth is reached, the drilling rod is left in the ground in order to act directly as a drainage pipe. A sheath of water-soluble material, designed to prevent debris from clogging the drainage slits during the drilling stage, is applied to the outer surface of the drilling rod.

  • Patent number: 6050337
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved equipment for the injection of materials into the subsoil, for consolidation, reclamation etc. A perforating rod is made of two coaxial pipes and equipped, at its end, with three or more radial nozzles. The first one provides the injection of high-pressure fluid that breaks the soil, the second one is devised for the injection of material like a cement-mix, and the third one a injects high-pressure fluid, which mixes the injected material and distributes it into the soil. The invention also relates to a method providing:the injection of a high-pressure fluid by means of a drilling rod while this rotates and it is simoultaneously risen;the injection--through a second nozzle downstream the first one--of the material which is to be injected into the soil;the injection through a third nozzle of a high-pressure fluid.

  • Patent number: 5944454
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reclaiming soil has a drilling rod with at least two pipes for injecting a high-pressure fluid and a viscous low-pressure fluid containing a granulated agent into the soil. The high-pressure fluid disaggregates the soil, while the low-pressure fluid carries the granulated agent for treating the soil and injects it into sludge formed by the high-pressure fluid to provide good mixing and distribution of the granulated agent.

  • Patent number: 5624209
Abstract: A soil decontamination method uses a drilling rod having an outer pipe with a closed lower end and a radially extending outlet nozzle near the lower end. The outer pipe has an outer surface which is free of structures so that the outer pipe moves smoothly in a hole. An inner pipe is co-axially positioned in the outer pipe, the inner pipe having a lower closed end with a radially extending nozzle which is co-axial with, and spaced inwardly from the nozzle of the outer pipe. A drill bit is on an outer surface of a lower end of the outer pipe. A hole is drilled into a layer of soil using the bit.
