Patent number: 9249982Abstract: A device for altering the airflow pattern from a ceiling vent diffuser by obstructing openings in a region of the diffuser. The device comprises a flexible member that is secured to a diffuser vane by a hook member and two tabs. The hook member has two or more engagement regions which enable it to engage vanes on different manufacturer's diffusers. The first end of the hook member is either pivotally secured to the flexible member or is engaged in an adjustment mechanism thereon. The adjustment mechanism allows the second end of the hook to be situated in different positions relative to an interior edge of the flexible member so as to accommodate different diffusers. An extension detachably engages the flexible member to increase the size thereof to accommodate larger diffusers.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2011Date of Patent: February 2, 2016Assignee: Airvisor Inc.Inventors: Chad A. Brown, Robert G. Dickie, Petri J. Nurmela, Jonathan D. Liberty

Patent number: 8002013Abstract: A device for altering the airflow pattern from a ceiling vent diffuser. The device comprises a flexible member that is secured to a diffuser vane by a spring-biased hook and one or more tabs. A release button on the outer surface of the device is depressed to pivot the hook out of engagement with the vane. The device is complementary shaped to a region of the diffuser. When installed, the device blocks the openings in that region and substantially prevents air from flowing out of the openings. One or more devices may be installed in selected regions to block airflow from those selected regions. A plurality of devices may be utilized to completely prevent airflow from the diffuser.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2008Date of Patent: August 23, 2011Assignee: Airvisor Inc.Inventors: Chad A. Patent number: 7703825Abstract: An extender for a bed of a truck, wherein the extender comprises a frame that has front end, a rear end and sides. At least one, and preferably two, spaced apart connector brackets extend outwardly away from the rear end of the frame. The connector brackets are designed to rest upon an end portion of the truck bed when the truck's tailgate has been removed. The connector brackets are preferably bolted into the truck bed, but may be frictionally engaged therewith. A strut extends downwardly from the frame and is connected to a rearwardly extending longitudinal support. The support is secured to the truck's trailer hitch. The extender is therefore supported by both the connector brackets and the hitch. The length of the strut is vertically adjustable to allow the extender to be secured to any type of truck. The longitudinal support is also slidably adjustable onto the trailer hitch to provide for the extender to be secured to any type of truck.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2006Date of Patent: April 27, 2010Inventor: Chad Brown
