  • Publication number: 20230279877
Abstract: A hydraulic system can include a hydraulic actuator including a piston rod slidably disposed within a housing having a base-side port and a rod-side port, a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic reservoir, an accumulator, a first control valve operable to selectively control flow from the pump to the base-side port and from the base-side port to the reservoir, a second control valve operable to selectively control flow from the pump to the rod-side port and from the rod-side port to the reservoir, a third control valve operable to selectively allow flow between the base-side port and the accumulator, and a controller for operating the hydraulic system and including a ride control mode in which damping is provided to the hydraulic actuator by operation of the first, second, and third control valves.

  • Patent number: 11286642
Abstract: An energy conserving hydraulic system for a mobile work machine includes a prime mover, a drivetrain, a baseline hydraulic system, a power-take-off, a transformer, a work implement, and an accumulator. The drivetrain may include an automated manual transmission (AMT) that is rotationally coupled to the prime mover and the power-take-off. The baseline hydraulic system is powered by the prime mover and includes a first hydraulic circuit. The transformer is hydraulically coupled to second and third hydraulic circuits. The work implement is actuated by an actuator that is adapted to be simultaneously hydraulically coupled to the first and the second hydraulic circuits. The power-take-off is adapted to exchange shaft power with the transmission. A clutch selectively rotationally couples the transmission and the power-take-off. The accumulator is hydraulically coupled to the second hydraulic circuit.

  • Patent number: 9765501
Abstract: A control system for a hydraulic system including an accumulator and a hydraulic transformer coordinates flow sharing within the hydraulic system. The hydraulic transformer includes first and second variable displacement pump/motor units mounted on a rotatable shaft. The rotatable shaft has an end adapted for connection to a first external load. The first variable displacement pump/motor unit includes a first side that fluidly connects to a pump and a second side that fluidly connects to a tank. The second variable displacement pump/motor unit includes a first side that fluidly connects to the accumulator and a second side that fluidly connects with the tank. A second external load may be hydraulically connected to the hydraulic system. Energy may be transferred to/from the pump, the accumulator, the first external load, and/or the second external load, as directed by the control system.
