Abstract: In one embodiment, the invention relates to measuring the impact of media based on examining viewership data, social conversation, viewer response, and other metrics, and applying an algorithm that produces an index value representative of the social response to a particular media piece. For example, the participant index (TPI) provides insights about what an audience learns (knowledge), feels (attitudes and opinions) and does (behaviors and actions) in response to viewing different kinds of entertainment.
