  • Patent number: 10218059
Abstract: Radio transceivers comprising phased-array antennas and adjacent radio-reflective deflectors permit a scanning angle reachable by the phased-array antenna to be increased or multiplied to improve directed communications with peer transceivers located over a wider range (i.e., outside the scanning angle reachable by the phased-array alone). Embodiments may be used in wireless local area network (“WLAN”) access points (“APs”).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 29, 2016
Date of Patent: February 26, 2019
    Assignee: SMC Networks
Inventors: Chad E. Dewey, Harold R. Bledsoe

  • Patent number: 8362969
Abstract: An adjustable antenna baffling system includes a mounting plate for antenna radiating elements, baffles, connecting links that connect the baffles to the mounting plate, limit brackets that limit movement of the connecting links, an actuator and a housing. Pushing or pulling a handle on the actuator rotates the connecting links and extends or retracts the baffles to adjust the beamwidth. The housing encloses the components of the system except the handle and a lock tab on the mounting plate. The handle is secured to the lock tab to lock the baffles in the selected position.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 30, 2010
Date of Patent: January 29, 2013
    Assignee: ARC Wireless Solutions, Inc.
Inventors: Steven C. Olson, Chad E. Dewey

  • Publication number: 20110138614
Abstract: A transition for connecting a coaxial cable to a conductive metal part such as an antenna has a base and a sleeve. According to the method of the present invention the base is pressed into the groundplane of the antenna to provide a permanent conductive and mechanical connection. A low profile transition has a base and a channel portion parallel to the face of the base.

  • Publication number: 20100079346
Abstract: An enclosure system for a radio board and an antenna circuit has a downwardly opening, concave housing with a interior housing cavity, a base that fits across the bottom of the housing, and a mounting plate that mounts on the base and extends into the housing cavity. The radio board and antenna mount on the mounting plate. A transparent cable access door has spaced knockouts that allow routing of communication interface cables. Mounting bolts attached to the exterior of the housing allow mounting of a mounting bracket. The bottom of the base is flat for placement on a flat surface.
