    Abstract: Of the many methods provided herein, a method comprising: (a) combining a corrosion inhibitor composition with an aqueous acid solution, the corrosion inhibitor composition comprising a benzylideneaniline compound corresponding to Formula 1 below: wherein R is H, methyl, ethyl, hydroxy, methoxy, ethoxy, bromo, chloro, fluoro, mercapto, dimethylamino, or diethylamino groups and/or a cinnamylideneaniline compound corresponding to Formula 2 below: wherein R is H methyl, ethyl, hydroxy, methoxy, ethoxy, bromo, chloro, fluoro, mercapto, dimethylamino, or diethylamino groups; and contacting a metal surface with the aqueous acid solution.
