Abstract: A method for filtering airborne particulates is described. The method includes providing an exhaust hood, and the exhaust hood defines an intake and the exhaust hood being adapted to receive airborne particulates via the intake. The method also includes conveying a portion of a filter media from a media source area to an active media area, transferring the portion of the filter media from the active media area to a media discard area, the media discard area and the media source area being disposed on substantially opposed sides of the active media area, and severing the portion of the filter media in the media discard area from a remainder of the filter media.

Abstract: Collapsible filter frames are described. In particular, collapsible filter frames including at least one top frame portion, at least one bottom frame portion, and at least one joint between the at least one top frame portion and the at least one bottom frame portion are described. The collapsible filter frame is configured to receive a filter media insert, the insertion of which renders the collapsible frame temporarily non-collapsible.

Abstract: Filter assemblies are described. In particular, a filter securement assembly for receiving and retaining a filter media in an exhaust hood is disclosed, the filter securement assembly being releasably securable to the exhaust hood, includes a filter frame, a cover and a face forming a portion of the cover, the face defining a plurality of apertures therethrough, the apertures forming at least 50% of a face surface area.
