Abstract: A fuel delivery system is described in the present disclosure. The fuel delivery system includes a kidney loop filtration system for filtering fuel stored in a tank. The kidney loop filtration system is fluidly connected to the tank and to a fuel transfer pump. The kidney loop filtration system includes a pump, at least one primary filter, and a swing-check valve. The swing-check valve allows flow of fuel in a first direction in a first mode of operation and in a second direction in a second mode of operation. The swing-check valve further includes a flow passage and a perforated flap. The perforated flap filters fuel during the flow of fuel, in the second direction.

Abstract: A fuel filter for fuel delivery system is disclosed in the present disclosure. The fuel filter includes housing, a filter media, an end plate, and a filter plug. The housing includes an open end and a closed end. The filter media is disposed inside the housing defining an unfiltered space and a filtered space. The filter media and the open end of the fuel filter are covered by the end plate. The end plate includes at least one vent hole in which the filter plug is mounted. The filter plug filter and vent out the air and/or gases trapped inside the unfiltered space.

Abstract: A method for operating a fuel system for an internal combustion engine during engine start, is disclosed. The fuel system includes a fuel supply system in fluid communication with a fuel delivery system and a cooling circuit. The cooling circuit is configured to transfer heat from the fuel delivery system. The method includes provision of fuel to the fuel delivery system and isolation of the fuel from the cooling circuit. Thereafter, a pressure between the fuel supply system and the fuel delivery system is sensed. Determination is carried out when the pressure is greater than a predetermined threshold fuel pressure. Subsequently, based on the determined pressure, fuel to the cooling circuit is provided.
