  • Publication number: 20070134344
Abstract: The invention provides an antibiotic composition comprising coated micropellets and a method for preparing said antibiotic composition.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 15, 2004
    Publication date: June 14, 2007
Inventors: Indranil Nandi, Mintong Guo, Chad Gassert
  • Publication number: 20060182806
Abstract: An extended-release pharmaceutical composition comprising a core and a coating, wherein said core comprises propranolol or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and at least one excipient, and said coating comprises at least one water-soluble polymer and at least one water-insoluble polymer, wherein said coating is heated at a temperature of about 30° C. to about 70° C. after being applied to said core.
    Type: Application
    Filed: November 7, 2005
    Publication date: August 17, 2006
Inventors: Mintong Guo, Suresh Palaniswamy, Ashish Patel, Chad Gassert, Pablo Davila
  • Publication number: 20050226923
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition comprising microtablets, wherein said microtablets comprise from about 0.1 weight percent to about 99.9 weight percent of venlafaxine, about 0.1 weight percent to about 20 weight percent of a lubricant, and optionally one or more excipients, wherein said weight percents are based on the total weight of the microtablet, and said microtablets have a tablet size of about 1 mm to about 4 mm, and a tablet weight of 1 to 50 mg. The microtablets of the invention prevent or minimize leaching of the highly water-soluble venlafaxine during an aqueous coating process, and provide a more uniform release rate, as compared to venlafaxine compositions in the form of spheroids or pellets.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 7, 2004
    Publication date: October 13, 2005
    Inventor: Chad Gassert
  • Publication number: 20050084540
Abstract: A taste masking composition comprising micropellets containing an antibiotic wherein said micropellets have an inner coating comprising at least one cellulose polymer which is not an enteric coating polymer and an outer coating comprising an enteric coating polymer, wherein said micropellets have a particle size of about 100 ?m to about 650 ?m. The micropellets are characterized by (i) a lack of bitter taste; (ii) fast dissolution; and (iii) increased bioavailability of antibiotic as compared to antibiotic containing pellets having a drug-polymer matrix.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 17, 2003
    Publication date: April 21, 2005
Inventors: Indranil Nandi, Mintong Guo, Chad Gassert
  • Publication number: 20050084541
Abstract: An oral suspension comprising (a) an antibiotic composition which comprises coated micropellets and optionally one or more excipients, (b) additional excipients, and (c) a solvent, wherein said coated micropellets comprise (i) a core comprising at least one antibiotic; (ii) an inner coating comprising at least one cellulose polymer which is not an enteric coating polymer; and (iii) an outer coating comprising at least one enteric coating polymer, wherein said coated micropellets have a mean particle size of about 100 ?m to about 650 ?m. The oral suspension of the invention is characterized by a lack of bitter taste.
    Type: Application
