  • Publication number: 20240033287
Abstract: The present invention provides antimicrobial feed supplement compositions comprising clay, and methods of treating microbial infections in an animal using the antimicrobial compositions.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 22, 2023
    Publication date: February 1, 2024
Inventors: Chad HAGEN, Robert MUSSER, Ryan COONEY, Kim FRIESEN, Ran SONG, Chester WIERNUSZ
  • Publication number: 20220142204
Abstract: Feed additive compositions and methods of using the additives to improve the performance of an adult animal are disclosed. Improved performance can include reducing maintenance nutrient requirements, improving growth performance, reducing the energy required for intestinal maintenance, reducing the energy required for weight gain, reduced morbidity, increasing growth rate, improving feed conversion, improving the average daily gain (ADG), improving the efficiency of nutrient utilization, increasing volatile fatty acid production, improving energy use from volatile fatty acids, increasing ending body weight, improved intestinal health, increased relative abundance of Bifidobacterium in the intestines, or combinations thereof.
    Type: Application
    Filed: November 11, 2021
    Publication date: May 12, 2022
    Applicant: NutriQuest, LLC
Inventors: Kim Friesen, Ran Song, Chad Hagen, Jeff Hansen
  • Publication number: 20190116833
Abstract: The present invention provides feed additive composition comprising fermented yeast, sodium metabisulfite, and optionally thiamin. When a normal or basal feed is supplemented with the feed additive, improved growth, improved health, improved intestinal health, and a reduction of microbial pathogens is seen in non-human animals as compared to a control group.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 23, 2018
    Publication date: April 25, 2019
Inventors: Kim Friesen, Ran Song, Chad Hagen
  • Publication number: 20170095508

  • Publication number: 20150157258
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for automatically identifying sleep apnea in a subject based on load cell signal data obtained from load cells coupled with one or more supports of a bed are disclosed. In one example approach, a method comprises continuously collecting load cell signal data from one or more load cells positioned below one or more supports of a bed, processing the signal data to obtain processed signal data, extracting features from the processed signal data, calculating a sleep apnea severity parameter based on the extracted features via a model, and identifying sleep apnea in the subject based on the sleep apnea severity parameter.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 11, 2014
    Publication date: June 11, 2015
Applicant: Oregon Health & Science University
Inventors: Zachary Beattie, Chad Hagen, Tamara Hayes
  • Patent number: 8905928
Abstract: Embodiments provide systems, methods and apparatuses for monitoring the sleep of a subject in a home environment. In embodiments, load cells placed under bed supports may be coupled to a computing device that may process the load cell data to detect disordered breathing. In some embodiments, a computing device may apply a pattern recognition algorithm to load cell data to distinguish between normal movements and movements associated with a sleep disorder. In an embodiment, apparatuses and methods for monitoring sleep may perform functions associated with detection of sleep disturbances and/or identify a sleep disorder.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 16, 2010
Date of Patent: December 9, 2014
Assignee: Oregon Health & Science University
Inventors: Tamara Hayes, Zachary Beattie, Chad Hagen, Misha Pavel
