The release bearing assembly can have a front slinger with a main body with a generally radial planar portion that at least partially covers an annular spacing between the bearing inner and outer races of the release bearing assembly. A rear slinger is provided which contacts an outer race of the bearing and forms an annular groove portion adjacent the annular spacing between the inner and outer races.
