  • Patent number: 8801393
Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine and a liquid pump configured to pump liquid from a liquid intake system to an outlet. The vehicle further includes a pressure control system operably coupled to the engine via a communication connection, the pressure control system receiving a first signal from the engine representing engine speed. The pressure control system is configured to cause the liquid pump to change pumping pressure without changing the engine speed, and wherein the pressure control system is configured to cause the liquid pump to change pumping pressure without changing the engine speed when the pressure control system makes a determination relating to the engine speed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 12, 2007
Date of Patent: August 12, 2014
    Assignee: Pierce Manufacturing Inc.
Inventors: Ryan W. Crabtree, David J Fieber, Brian D Piller, Chad M. Trinkner
  • Patent number: 8555625
Abstract: An after treatment exhaust system is provided. The after treatment exhaust system includes a diesel particulate filter configured to be supported at a first lateral side of a vehicle chassis and a selective catalytic reduction device configured to be supported at a second lateral side of the vehicle chassis opposite the first lateral side. The after treatment exhaust system also includes a first conduit configured to be in fluid communication between an engine and the diesel particulate filter, a second conduit configured to be in fluid communication between the diesel particulate filter and the selective catalytic reduction device and a third conduit having a first end coupled to the selective catalytic reduction device and at least one second end configured to be open to the environment.
