    Abstract: An example imaging apparatus that can operate at shortwave infrared (SWIR) wavelengths are provided. An example imaging apparatus may include a flexible elongate member having a distal end and proximal end. The flexible elongate member may include a shortwave infrared (SWIR) imaging sensor disposed at the distal end and a lens optically coupled to the SWIR imaging sensor and disposed at the distal end of the flexible elongate member, the lens configured to focus light energy at the SWIR wavelength onto the SWIR imaging sensor. The member may also include an illumination source configured to provide light energy at the SWIR wavelength at the distal end of the flexible elongate member for output to illuminate an object.

    Abstract: A device for imaging light, or a source of the light, includes a window for receiving incident light from the source, at least one metasurface, and at least one wedge prism. The metasurface and the wedge prism form a Risley pair and are displaced independently of each other. Each of the metasurface and the wedge prism are operative to deflect the incident light at an angle that is different from an angle of light incident upon them. Each metasurface includes a plurality of sub-wavelength structures that are operative to interact with the incident light received from the window. The device also includes a lens system that is operative to transmit the incident light received from the at least one metasurface and the at least one wedge prism and focuses it on a focal plane.

The illumination assembly may be configured to output illumination at the SWIR wavelength adjacent to the distal end of the fiber optic bundle toward an object. The imaging detector may be operably coupled to a proximal end of the fiber optic bundle and configured to receive imaging light energy at the SWIR wavelength reflected from the object and guided through the fiber optic bundle.
