Abstract: A video communication terminal for displaying a user's face at the center of its own display screen and a method for controlling the same. The communication terminal with a camera transmits a captured image to a communication terminal of a called party, and displays an image received from the called party's communication terminal thereon such that it establishes a video communication with the called party. A transmission/reception unit performs data transmission/reception for the video communication. A tracker detects a user's face area from an image captured by the camera. An image extractor extracts pixels of a predetermined range covering the user's face area detected by the tracker. A distortion corrector corrects a distortion of angle of view in the pixels extracted by the image extractor when the camera captures an image.

Abstract: The invention relates to an antenna structure for a portable radio telephone comprising a helical antenna and a rod antenna. The helical antenna is inserted into the portable radio telephone, and the rod antenna is concealed when it is retracted into the telephone. The helical antenna is electrically connected to a Radio Frequency (RF) terminal in the telephone and the rod antenna is electrically connected to a ground terminal in a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) of the telephone to have a dipole structure.

Abstract: A skin-contact type terminal system includes a thermoelectric module for cooling or heating in accordance with a polarity of current provided from the skin-contact type terminal, with the temperature of cooling or heating being adjusted according to a level of a voltage provided thereto, and being controlled to maintain its cooling or heating operation for a predetermined time. A control unit senses generation of an alert request signal, supplies the voltage to the thermoelectric module in accordance with the sensed alert request signal so that the thermoelectric module cools or heats in accordance with the predetermined cooling or heating temperature. The control unit controls the thermoelectric module to maintain its cooling or heating operation for the predetermined time.
