    Abstract: A Space-Time-Frequency Block Coding (STFBC) encoding apparatus and method for a wireless communication system are provided. In a transmitter using a plurality of transmit antennas, an encoder encodes an input symbol sequence according to a predetermined space-time coding matrix. An antenna circulator selects one of predetermined permutation matrices according to a predetermined formula and generates a plurality of symbol vectors by permuting the space-time coded symbols according to the selected permutation matrix.
