  • Patent number: 7532660
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a system for transmitting/receiving signals in a mobile communication system using a multiple input multiple output adaptive antenna array scheme. A first receiver calculates a reception weight value by using a de-spread signal of a reception signal for creating a reception beam of the first receiver and calculates a transmission weight value by using the calculated reception weight value for creating a transmission beam of the second transmitter, thereby creating feedback information including the transmission weight value. A first transmitter transmits the feedback information to a second receiver. The second receiver receives the feedback information and the second transmitter detects the transmission weight value from the feedback information received in the second receiver, and creates the transmission beam corresponding to the detected transmission weight value in order to transmit a signal by applying the transmission beam to the signal.

  • Patent number: 7436803
Abstract: A mobile station that determines whether to perform a soft handover in a CDMA mobile communication system and method thereof. The mobile station compares strength of a signal received from a source BTS (Base Transceiver Station) with a prescribed reference value. If the strength of the signal received from the source BTS is larger than the reference value, the mobile station determines whether to perform a soft handover based on a new offset value being smaller than a previous hysteresis no matter how strong a signal received from a target BTS is.

  • Patent number: 7336951
Abstract: A system and method for handing over a terminal from a first base station to a second base station in a mobile communication system while the terminal is in communication with the first base station. Upon determining that the terminal must hand over to the second base station while communicating with the first base station in a first communication mode, a first base station controller controls the terminal such that it performs an initialization operation based on a second communication mode with the second base station. The first base station controller then notifies a first mobile switching center that the terminal has completed the initialization operation. The first mobile switching center notifies a second mobile switching center via a roaming gateway that the terminal must hand over to the second base station. The second mobile switching center controls a second base station controller such that it pages the terminal.
