  • Patent number: 7281817
Abstract: A traffic light includes a circuit board on which linear arrays of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are mounted in a V-shaped arrangement, an inner cover having a first inner surface facing the LEDs to receive light from the LEDs and an opposite, first outer surface forming elongate prisms inclined with respect to a predetermined axis at a predetermined angle of 65-80 degrees, and a front cover having a second inner surface facing the first outer surface of the inner cover to receive the light from the inner cover, and an opposite, second outer surface through which the light is further projected out of the traffic light. The second inner surface of the front cover forms a honeycomb structure including a plurality of hexagonal lens blocks, each composed of an array of individual lens segments.

  • Publication number: 20070091615
Abstract: A backlight module for LCD monitors and method of backlighting are disclosed, in which a dome-shaped lens and a LED light source are employed in the backlight module. This method includes the preparation of a LED light source and a dome lens, fitting the dome lens over the light source, attaching the dome lens and the light source under the optical lens sheets, whereby the optical lens sheet closest to the light source is at a vertical distance X therefrom. The hemispherical lens provides light coverage on the optical lens sheet in a peripheral areas with diameters ranging from 2X to 7X, as compared with the small area (diameter X) using the conventional technique. The dome lens is constructed with a light emergent plane on one side, and a light incident plane around hollow cavity in the center.

  • Publication number: 20070091601
Abstract: A traffic light structure includes an LED light source having a circuit board and multiple LEDs securely mounted on the circuit board, a front cover having a first incidence surface provided with multiple lenses each with rectangular lenses and a first emergence surface and an inner cover sandwiched between the front cover and the LED light source and having a second incidence surface and a second emergence surface provided with columns symmetrically arranged relative to a central axis on the second emergence surface. Light of the LEDs scattered and reflected by the inner cover and the front cover is inclined downward to a horizontal axis of the front cover.

  • Publication number: 20060120085
Abstract: A lens assembly for evenly distributing light beams includes a body, an input lens and an output lens. The input lens and the output lens are oppositely mounted on the body. The input lens is a convex lens and the output lens is composed of multiple lens units arranged in such a way that a lens group is formed such that a light beam passing through the input lens and into the body is able to be evenly distributed by the output lens.

  • Patent number: 6599002
Abstract: An LED (light-emitting diode) signal light comprises a light source composed of a plurality of LEDs mounted on a circuit board and light is cast from a front mantle capable of modulating optically, wherein an external lateral surface of the front mantle is a smooth plane while an internal lateral surface is provided with a plurality of lens cells, which are located oppositely against the LEDs correspondingly. Both the architecture of the cutaway and the cross sections of the lens cell implicate an arcuate curve with an opening oriented a smooth plane. Light cast from an LED will undergo optical modulation of the plurality of lens humps on the lens cell so as to redistribute the light in vertical and horizontal direction and adjust orientation of light to the specified illumination areas.
