The present invention is alkali free glass comprised, in weight percent, of about 57-61% SiO2, 16-18% Al2O3, 8-11% B2O3, 3-4.5% CaO, 1-5% SrO, 5-8% BaO, 0.1-3% ZnO, being substantially free from alkali metallic oxides and MgO.
