  • Publication number: 20180213339
Abstract: In some embodiments, the disclosed subject matter involves a system and method relating to improving the user experience of hearing, using an adaptable or adjustable hearing aid that takes environmental conditions into account when changing modes. A local server or gateway or cloud service iteratively analyzes the audio environment and feedback from the user to automatically change settings and mode of the user's hearing aid to improve hearing. Information from other users in similar audio environments may be used to assist in mode changes. Information about the audio environment, hearing aid settings/mode and user feedback may be correlated for future use by the user, or crowdsourced for other users, the hearing aid manufacturer or audiologist. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 8002708
Abstract: A beamformer for an ultrasound system and a method for developing a beamformer are provided. The beamformer includes an RF interface configured to be connected to receiver boards that are connected to a probe. The method includes providing receiver boards, wherein each of the receiver boards is capable of conveying a common number of channels per board and has substantially similar circuit components and layouts. The method also includes selecting a number of channels per probe to be conveyed in parallel between a probe and the receiver boards, wherein the channels per probe is an integer multiple of the channels per board. The method further includes determining a combination of the receiver boards to use in the beamformer based on the number of channels per probe, wherein the receiver boards are capable of being used in at least first and second different combinations that support first and second different numbers of channels per probe.

  • Publication number: 20110002989
Abstract: The present invention provides methods, dosage forms and kits for treating with an effective amount of ziprasidone a CNS disorder in a human when the human is in a fasted state. In one embodiment, the invention relates to a method for treating a CNS disorder in a human, which method comprises administering to the human in a fasted state, a solid oral dosage form comprising an amount of ziprasidone effective to treat said CNS disorder, wherein the area under the serum concentration versus time curve (AUC0-inf) of the ziprasidone in the human subsequent to said administering is from 70% to 140% of the mean area under the ziprasidone serum concentration versus time curve (AUC0-inf) resulting from administration of a control ziprasidone immediate release oral capsule containing the same amount of ziprasidone to a cohort of humans in a fed state.

  • Patent number: 7611463
Abstract: A method for conveying control information in an ultrasound system is provided. The method provides unique identifiers for the processing components in a beamformer of an ultrasound system. The method formats control information into at least one packet based on a packetized protocol, the control information relating to beamforming operations carried out by the processing components. The method conveys the control information to the processing components.

  • Patent number: 6835262
Abstract: There is provided a pressure bonding system for applying pressure onto at least one tile of a workpiece. This system comprises upper and lower gripper members each having first and second gripper ends. The second gripper ends are connected to each other. The first gripper ends are movable relative to each other to receive the workpiece therebetween. Moreover, an upper pressure applicator assembly is slidably engaged to the upper gripper member. The upper pressure applicator assembly is slidable along the upper gripper member between the first and second ends along a length of the workpiece. The workpiece is placed between the upper and lower gripper members with an edge thereof being adjacent the second gripper ends. The upper pressure applicator applies pressure to the tile(s) upon relative movement of the first ends towards the workpiece to a position adjacent the tile(s).

  • Publication number: 20030078893
Abstract: A postage metering system that includes a central processing system and a remote postage printing device (RPPD). The central processing system includes a secure metering device (SMD) operatively coupled to a central computer and configured to store accounting information. The RPPD operatively couples to the SMD via a wireless communications link. The RPPD receives a user request for postage, transmits the user request to the SMD via the wireless communications link, receives a secure postage indicium from the SMD, and directs printing of an indicium. The secure postage indicium can be generated using digital signature, encryption, or encoding, or a combination thereof.
