Patent number: 11625394Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for supporting transformations of a graph generated from a query to event data. The event data may be unstructured event data, from which instances of a journey can be identified that represent sequences of related events describing actions performed in a computing environment. When evaluating journey instances, it can be helpful to visualize the instances as a graph. Depending on the instances viewed, a user may desire different modifications to the graph. While such modifications can be made when initially building instances from the unstructured event data, this can limit reuse of the resulting instances (since the modification would also be present when evaluating other subsets). To address this, embodiments of the present disclosure enable graph modifications to be applied to subsets of journey instances after building those instances from unstructured event data, increasing reuse of instances built from a query against the unstructured data.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 2022Date of Patent: April 11, 2023Assignee: Splunk Inc.Inventors: Chandrashekar Basavaiah, Elizabeth Li, Eric Tschetter, Joshua Walters

Patent number: 11263229Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for efficiently detecting alert states within unstructured event data. Alert states are illustratively defined as occurring when a threshold number of journey instances are present within the unstructured event data, each journey instance representing a series of events within the event data representing steps within a pre-defined journey. Detecting journey instances within unstructured event data can require significant computational resources, and thus attempting to detect alert states directly from unstructured event data can lead to inefficiencies. Embodiments of this disclosure enable a structured data set of journey instances to be generated from unstructured event data, and for the structured data set to be evaluated based on criteria of multiple alert states. By utilizing a single structured data set to support evaluation based on multiple alert states, detecting alert states from unstructured event data is rendered more efficient.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2019Date of Patent: March 1, 2022Assignee: Splunk Inc.Inventors: Chandrashekar Basavaiah, Jindrich Dinga, Elizabeth Li, Cary Glen Noel, Isabelle Park, Eric Tschetter, Joshua Walters, Mei Chun Yeh

Patent number: 10230806Abstract: System and methods for tracking of user interactions are disclosed. A server system receives a first user interaction record from a first client device. The server system receives a second user interaction record from a second client device, wherein the first user interaction record and the second user interaction record are both formatted using a multi-platform user interaction data record format. The server system stores the first user interaction record and the second user interaction record at a database at the server system.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2017Date of Patent: March 12, 2019Assignee: eBay Inc.Inventors: Dror Engel, Tea The Vinh Tran, Shyamala Sriramulu, Zhiyi Jason Liu, Chandrashekar Basavaiah

Patent number: 9589285Abstract: Receiving data from a client machine, the data representing selection of a subset of components of a set of components of a fixed query response representation; performing a map/reduce function on the data to retrieve the subset of components; and transmitting the subset of components to the client machine. The data may include an Xpath expression that is created at the client machine or at a server and the map/reduce function may be performed according to a design pattern that designates the pattern of components in a fixed query response representation designated by the client machine.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2012Date of Patent: March 7, 2017Assignee: eBay Inc.Inventors: Ayub Khan, Chandrashekar Basavaiah

Publication number: 20140180861Abstract: A method and a system for collaborative bundling of items in an online marketplace are provided. For example, a first identification of a first item for sale in an online marketplace and an indication of availability to bundle may be received from a client device. Based on the indication of availability to bundle, an identification interface that presents identifications of one or more items suitable for bundling with the first item may be provided to the client device. A selection of a second identification of a second item may be received. The second identification may be selected from the identifications of the one or more items. A negotiation within the online marketplace pertaining to a bundling of the first and second items may be facilitated. A bundle listing including the first identification of the first item and the second identification of the second item may be generated based on the negotiation.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2012Publication date: June 26, 2014Applicant: eBay Inc.Inventor: Chandrashekar Basavaiah

Patent number: 7813741Abstract: A system and method for initiating responses to location-based events includes a rules system for applying one or more rules to state/attribute information corresponding to one or more mobile units, to determine if a location-based event has occurred. If it is determined that a location-based event has occurred, a response is provided to one or more location-based services applications. The response can be used by the location-based services applications to provide location-based services, such as email, instant messaging, paging and the like. A state/attribute database can be used with the system and method to store and update the state/attribute information corresponding to the one or more mobile units.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2002Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Assignee: deCarta Inc.Inventors: Geoffrey Hendrey, Chandrashekar Basavaiah, Tony Campione, Scott Stouffer
