  • Patent number: 10650434
Abstract: A budget-constrained, machine-learning system is described that creates a shopping (purchase) list and performs on-line ordering and delivery. It receives the shopper's past purchase receipts from a retail store, pharmacy and/or auto center. It may attach to a web server to acquire on-line browsing information. The system creates a Purchase List from acquired information. The system receives a budget and determines if all items on the Purchase List can be bought under the budget. If not, the items are given priority ratings. The system walks down the list to in decreasing priority rating order identifying items to purchase without exceeding the budget. The shopper may override the items identified to be purchased. Shopper override is monitored by a machine learning engine which adjusts the priority rating of the item or the period of replacement for the next shopping trip/session, allowing for more accurate results and flexibility.

  • Patent number: 10592964
Abstract: A system receives an order from a user and evaluates a plurality of potential sources for items of an order as well as delivery options. Combinations of sources and delivery options are assigned a score according to factors such as cost, delivery time, and supply chain factors. A prior-used delivery option for the user is determined and the scores are adjusted to indicate higher desirability for combinations including the prior-used delivery option. A combination is selected and fulfillment of the order is invoked. The source and/or delivery option for an order may be adjusted after fulfillment has begun in response to user instructions or detected disruptions. A user may specify a preferred delivery option that will be used unless a combination not including the preferred delivery option meets a threshold condition. The system may analyze past orders of a user and identify lower cost delivery intervals and/or destinations.

  • Patent number: 10474983
Abstract: A control circuit dispatches towards a delivery zone a terrestrial vehicle that carries at least one airborne drone and at least one item to be delivered to a customer. When the terrestrial vehicle is in the delivery zone, the drone is dispatched to carry the item to the customer. By one approach the drone exits the terrestrial vehicle without bearing the item. The item can be automatically moved from within the terrestrial vehicle to a position such that the item is at least partially exposed external to the terrestrial vehicle. The airborne drone, subsequent to exiting the terrestrial vehicle, can engage the item in order to then deliver that item to the customer. By one approach the terrestrial vehicle includes one or more platforms that support one or more airborne drones and that can be moved from within the terrestrial vehicle to a deployed position external to the terrestrial vehicle.
