  • Patent number: 8352236
Abstract: The invention relates to the fault tree analysis system for a nuclear power plant with advanced boiling water reactor. The full digital instrument control system uses six different modes to simulate the transmission of the digital signals and the analog signals from the detection units. It is to develop the fault tree for various signal transmission modes to support the nuclear power plant in probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) and meet requirements for simulated signal detection, transmission, logic operation and equipment actuation. Thus, the digital instrument control flow process can fit into PRA model and properly reflect its importance in risk assessment.

  • Publication number: 20120127011
Abstract: A remote control method applied to a remote control system, including a remote control device and at least one be-controlled device, includes the following steps. The remote control device discovers the at least one be-controlled device dynamically via a network and retrieves a device control profile from the at least one be-controlled device. The device control profile includes a composite finite state machine representing the dependency of various operation states of the at least one be-controlled device and multiple control codes coded in a bit-string format. Then the remote control device retrieves a current operation state code from the at least one be-controlled device via the network periodically. The remote control device analyzes the current operation state code based on the device control profile to accordingly generate a user interface to control the at least one be-controlled device.

  • Publication number: 20110055894
Abstract: A method for facilitating firewall and NAT traversal during social networking and/or content sharing via a mobile device uses an instant message protocol to establish a near real-time communications session between two user devices on opposite sides of the firewall or NAT enabled router. A first application on a mobile device provides social networking and/or content sharing. A second application on the mobile device establishes a communication session for exchanging near real-time messages between the mobile device and a second device over the firewall or NAT protected network. The second application is associated with the first application and allows the mobile device to access a file associated with the first application that is stored in the second device via the communication session.

Abstract: Based on the discovered operating errors under all basic operating mode s for advanced boiling water reactor, a suitable quantification analytical model is employed to fast assess the risk situation for the discovered operating errors and quantified results are used to differentiate the risk rating for the operating errors. This is used to determine the necessity and urgency for the corrective measures to respond to the errors. The adopted quantification analytical model is the safety assessment (Probabilistic Risk Assessment, PRA) model for all basic operating mode s for advanced boiling water reactor, including power operation, low power operation and shutdown for major repairs.
