  • Patent number: 12085834
Abstract: An electrically tunable liquid crystal lens includes a carrier substrate, a common electrode layer disposed on the carrier substrate, a liquid crystal unit, a patterned electrode layer, a terminal electrode layer, a dielectric insulating layer, and a cover. The liquid crystal unit is disposed on the common electrode layer opposite to the carrier substrate, and includes a plurality of liquid crystal molecules. The patterned electrode layer is disposed on the liquid crystal unit opposite to the common electrode layer, and has a plurality of aperture patterns located within a projection of the liquid crystal unit on the patterned electrode layer. The terminal electrode layer is disposed on the patterned electrode layer opposite to the liquid crystal unit. The dielectric insulating layer is disposed between the patterned electrode layer and the terminal electrode layer. The cover is disposed on the terminal electrode layer opposite to the dielectric insulating layer.

  • Patent number: 10256967
Abstract: A clock and data recovery circuit with jitter tolerance enhancement is provided. The CDR circuit includes: a bang-bang phase detector, a digital filter, a digitally controlled oscillator, and an adaptive loop gain control circuit. The CDR circuit detects a loop bandwidth variation and adjusts the loop bandwidth of CDR circuit by adjusting proportional path and integral path gain factors of the digital filter of the CDR circuit. The loop gain controller uses two methods to adjust the loop gain in CDR circuit: bang-bang adjusting method and linear adjusting method.

  • Patent number: 7782728
Abstract: A layer-jumping control device and method for an optical disc device includes a calculator, a controller, and a driver. The calculator is configured to receive an error-focusing signal, and to determine a peak and a trough of the error-focusing signal. The controller, coupled to the calculator, is configured to process the error-focusing signal to generate a control-focusing signal. The driver, coupled to the controller, is configured to convert the control-focusing signal to a control-driving signal. The device further includes a counter coupled to the calculator, and enables the layer jump when the counter reaches a predetermined value.

  • Publication number: 20080068940
Abstract: An optical disc drive generates a control signal according to the delay of a TZC signal. The control signal can determine if an optical pickup of the optical disc drive crosses a track. When the optical pickup is reading a defective section of an optical disk, the optical disc drive cannot correct the movement of the optical pickup. Therefore, after the optical pickup passes through the defective section of the optical disc, the optical disc drive adjusts the gain of the tracking drive signal according to the control signal.
