Abstract: A display system controlled based on users' behavior is provided. The display system is used for displaying an image. The display system includes a timer, an analyzing module, and a projecting apparatus. The timer is used for counting a current time. The analyzing module generates at least one standby time period based on a set of predetermined information, wherein the set of predetermined information relates to users' behavior. The projecting apparatus for projecting the image is selectively in a projecting mode, a standby mode and a turning-off mode. When the current time is in the at least one standby time period, the projecting apparatus is selectively in the projecting mode and the standby mode.

Abstract: The timing synchronization module includes a phase locked loop (PLL) and a synchronization processing unit. The PLL receives an output-end clock signal. When the PLL receives the output-end clock signal for the first time, the PLL generates a reception-end clock signal according to the output-end clock signal. The synchronization processing unit receives a procedure clock signal and the reception-end clock signal. The output-end clock signal has M clocks after the reception-end clock signal is generated, while the reception-end clock signal has N clocks as generated. When the difference value of M and N is larger than a preset value, the synchronization processing unit removes the media signal corresponding to the procedure clock signal and generates the reception-end clock signal again. When the difference value is smaller than the preset value, the synchronization processing unit controls media signal playing according to the reception-end clock signal and the procedure clock signal.

Abstract: A system for projecting an image onto a screen divided into N regions is provided, wherein N is an integer larger than 1. The system according to a preferred embodiment of the invention includes a processing apparatus, N projecting apparatuses and at least one sensing device. The processing apparatus divides the image into N sub-images. The N projecting apparatuses respectively receive the N sub-images and project the received sub-images onto the N regions of the screen. The at least one sensing device senses the projected sub-images, and transmits the sensed sub-images to the processing apparatus. The processing apparatus further calculates alignment differences among the sensed sub-images, and adjusts the projected sub-images on the screen according to the alignment differences to eliminate the alignment differences.

Abstract: A method for video processing. A first video sequence (VS) is received. The first VS is processed to generate a second VS in a first resolution. The second VS is adjusted to a third VS in a second resolution. It is determined whether the difference between the first VS and the third VS is lower than a predetermined bias level. The second VS is encoded and output if the difference between the first VS and the third VS is lower than the predetermined bias level.

Abstract: A portable device for transmitting a positioning information to a remote device is disclosed, which comprises: a positioning unit, for acquiring the positioning information; a timing unit, for calculating a first time interval and a second time interval; a calculating unit, coupled to the positioning unit and the timing unit, for calculating a speed parameter according to the first time interval and the distance of two positioning information acquired within the first time interval; and a transmission unit, coupled to the speed calculating unit and the timing unit, being defined to transmit the positioning information in every second time interval while the second time interval is change with respect to the speed parameter.

Abstract: A method includes wirelessly receiving a text string at a mobile phone and parsing the text string to obtain security configuration data of the mobile phone. The method determines whether a code in the security configuration data matches a corresponding code in the mobile phone. The method further includes locking or unlocking a predetermined feature of the mobile phone when the code in the security configuration data matches the corresponding code in the mobile phone.

Abstract: A media player for processing an input signal is disclosed, which comprises: a first decoder, for converting the input signal into a first decode signal using a first algorithm; a first encode, coupled to the first decoder; a storage device, coupled to the first encoder; and an image processor, for receiving and processing the first decode signal to output a play signal; wherein the first encoder uses a second algorithm to convert the first decode signal into a store signal to be saved in the storage device as the image processor stops to output the play signal.

Abstract: A method for message compression comprises receiving a first text message, acquiring at least one frequent character combination in the first text message, calculating frequencies for the frequent character combination and characters occurring in the first text message, generating multiple representative codes respectively for the frequent character combination and characters, and encoding the first text message to a second text message.

Abstract: An apparatus for processing a video signal with N frames is provided. The apparatus includes an encoding module and a selecting module. The encoding module performs a 1st through a Nth encoding procedure. The 1st through the Nth encoding procedure respectively encodes the 1st through the Nth frame among the N frames in a full-image-encoding mode, encodes other frames in an adaptive-image-encoding mode, and calculates the data amount of the N encoded frames in each encoding procedure, respectively. The selecting module selects the N encoded frames with the smallest data amount among the encoding procedures been performed.

Abstract: An electronic device including a housing, a first supporting member, a second supporting member and an adjusting assembly is provided. A method for controlling the system for video data processing includes selecting either the digital media recorder board or the computer. When the digital media recorder is selected, the controller connects to the digital media recorder board and accesses the media processing device. When the computer is selected, the controller connects to the digital media recorder board and accesses the media processing device.

Abstract: A method for video data status determination. Video data comprising frames is first received. A frame status of the video data is then determined according to a frame change rate of the frames. The frame change rate indicates a frame change amount over a predetermined time period. The determined frame status is provided as a basis for data encoding to reduce data manipulation time.

Abstract: A cooler is applied in an electronic apparatus. The electronic apparatus comprises a shell. The shell comprises a cooling opening. The cooler comprises a case and a cooling fan. The case has a connecting opening. The four walls around the connecting opening comprise at least one joint for jointing the cooling opening in a jointing direction. Abstract: A data control method used in a media player system is disclosed. The media player system includes a data end and a play end connected to each other through a network. The data end includes an encoder for encoding media data. The play end includes a buffer for storing media data packets. The method includes comparing the number of media data packets stored in the buffer with a high threshold and a low threshold, decelerating the encoding by the encoder of the data end if the number of media data packets stored in the buffer is larger than the high threshold, and accelerating the encoding by the encoder of the data end if the number of media data packets stored in the buffer is smaller than the high threshold.

Abstract: A method for controlling an electronic device from a distance, the electronic device having a first identifying number corresponding to a set of commands for controlling the electronic device, the electronic device further being connected to a command controller which is connected to a command server via a network. The method includes: (1) storing the set of commands in the command server; (2) transmitting a first command to the command server by the command controller; (3) transmitting a second command corresponding to the first command by the command server to the command controller; and (4) controlling the electronic device by the command controller by the second command.

Abstract: A method for on-line selecting and playing a media file that is stored in a server and a multimedia player is used for executing the media file and is further linked to the server via a network. The method comprising the steps of: (a) transmitting a request signal by the multimedia player to the server via the network for a selected list; (b) outputting the selected list to the multimedia player by the server upon receipt of the request signal; (c) formatting and inserting the selected list into a video signal and the multimedia player outputting the inserted video signal for displaying; (d) choosing an item from the selected list and subsequently transmitting the chosen item to the server; (e) transmitting a media file corresponding to the chosen item to the multimedia player; and (f) executing the media file by the multimedia player.

Abstract: A network peripheral and installation method thereof for downloading built-in programs of the network peripheral device to the computer and having these downloaded programs installed therein. The network peripheral device has an built-in network unit and a built-in network server. The network unit is for creating network connection to the computer system. After the network connection is established, the network server is started. A browser in the computer system may be opened and connected to the network server by means of a recognition code of the network server. After being connected to the network server, the browser may display all relevant programs. If clicked by the user, a program will be automatically downloaded to and installed in the computer system.

A storage device stores multiple web log records individually comprising multiple ordered web objects, and multiple minimum support records individually corresponding to the web object and comprising a min_sup value corresponding to the position of the web object. A traversal pattern mining program inserts the web objects with occurrence is exceeding or equaling the corresponding min_sup value into a first large reference sequence set (L1), generates multiple first candidate reference sequences, inserts the first candidate reference sequences with occurrence exceeding or equaling the minimized min_sup value of the self-contained web objects into a second large reference sequence set (L2), and generates a traversal pattern set by merging the L1 and the L2.

Abstract: This present invention provides a method for transmitting video, comprising the steps of: selecting a compression format for transmitting the video frames by a decision process; compressing said video data by said compression format to produce a corresponding video compressed data; generating a control code with respect to said video compressed data and said compression format; and transmitting said video compressed data and said control code to a receiving device. The method of this invention decides the compression format for transmitting the video first and then processes the compression and transmission in order to provide better transmitting quality.

Abstract: A wireless network synchronization system for updating data in a memory within a mobile unit on the Internet includes a data server and an access point (AP). The data server is located on the Internet to provide an update data. The AP is linked to the Internet to access the data in the data server and transmit the update data in a packet format to the mobile unit. When the mobile unit is linked to the AP, the AP transmits the packet containing the update data in a broadcast mode to the mobile unit to update the data in the memory thereof.
