Abstract: Provided are a display apparatus, a method of controlling the same, a server, a method of controlling the same, a system for detecting information on a display location of channel information, and a method of controlling the same. The method of controlling a display apparatus includes: transmitting, to a server, a request for information on a display location of channel information; receiving, from the server, the information on the display location of the channel information in response to the transmitted request; and extracting the channel information from a screen displayed by the display apparatus based on the received information on the display location of the channel information.

Abstract: A method for verifying authority information to determine whether content are created according to the authority assigned to each content provider (CP), and a display apparatus and an authority information verifying system using the same are provided. The method includes transmitting an application created using a program and displaying the application or authority information based on the authority information included with the application. Accordingly, it may be possible to easily check whether received content is created by an authorized CP, and to ensure that only an authorized application programming interface (API) is operated based on the authority information so that unauthorized content can be prevented from being created using an unauthorized API.

Abstract: A method for displaying a widget and a broadcast receiving apparatus thereof are provided. The apparatus includes an information receiving unit which receives information for at least one widget, a broadcast receiving unit which receives a broadcast signal, a signal processing unit which processes the broadcast signal to obtain a video signal and an audio signal, a storage unit which stores the information for the at least one widget and category information of the at least one widget, a control unit which determines which is a current category and controls the display unit to display an icon of a widget in the current category, an on-screen display (OSD) generating unit which generates the icon of the widget in the current category, a display unit which displays an image corresponding to the video signal and the icon of the widget in the current category, and a speaker which output a sound corresponding to the audio signal.

Abstract: A system and a method for providing web services to a device without a web browser are provided. A client, which provides web services, includes a control module transmitting a user command to a server which has a web browser and which provides web services; a parsing module receiving a markup document and/or content from the server, and parsing the markup document and/or content, where the markup document and/or content are received from a web server by the web browser in response to the user command; and a content reproducing module reproducing the markup document and/or content, under control of the control module based on the parsing result.

Abstract: A dynamic layout method of an application program module, comprising steps of loading a plurality of program modules operating independently; generating a common information storage to establish data communication among the program modules; allowing a first module receiving instructions by a user, among the program modules, to record data to perform the instructions on the common information storage; and allowing a second module capable of performing the instructions among the program modules, to read out the data from the common information storage and to perform the instructions using the data.
