  • Publication number: 20080298479
Abstract: An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmitting apparatus including a signal processing unit, a subcarrier orthogonalization processing unit, and a transmitting unit is provided. The signal processing unit divides a received signal into several real parts and several corresponding imaginary parts. The subcarrier orthogonalization processing unit is coupled to the signal processing unit for receiving the real and the imaginary parts of the signal, and for making the real and the imaginary parts respectively carried by a plurality of different and orthogonal subcarriers. The transmitting unit is coupled to the subcarrier orthogonalization processing unit to transmit the subcarriers.

  • Publication number: 20070258533
Abstract: An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system provided for communication includes an OFDM transmitter and an OFDM receiver. The OFDM transmitter may be configured to transmit OFDM signals through a communication channel and may include a channel encoder configured to encode a plurality of information bits and an interleaver configured to interleave the channel-encoded information bits. The OFDM transmitter may also include a mapper configured to map the interleaved channel-encoded information bits into mapped multi-level symbols. The OFDM transmitter may also include a dispersive encoder that is configured to dispersively encode the mapped symbols. The OFDM receiver may be configured to receive the transmitted OFDM signals and to decode the received OFDM signals iteratively based on soft decision methods.

  • Patent number: 6929877
Abstract: The present invention includes a bi-electrode structure including a substrate, a positive electrode, and a negative electrode. The positive electrode and the negative electrode are respectively formed on different sides of the substrate. The substrate is to support and insulate the positive electrode and the negative electrode. To improve the conductivity, the positive electrode has a first metal layer and a positive material layer Similarly, the negative electrode has a second metal layer and a negative material layer. After covering with a separator on either the positive electrode or the negative electrode, the bi-electrode structure is rolled to form a battery with cylindrical shape or stacked up to form a prismatic battery.

  • Patent number: 6521986
Abstract: This programmable multi-chip module (PMCM) substrate consists of an array of apparatus slots for bare-die attachment and Field Programmable Interconnect Chips (FPICs) for multi-chip module (MCM) substrate routing. A slot apparatus on a PMCM, which allows the bare-dies flexible attached on the slot apparatus is disclosed. The slot apparatus includes a plurality of first-slot-modules for accommodating and connecting at least one bare-die. Therefore, the PMCM assembled by the inventive slots provides a fast-built, error-detecting, and general-purpose substrate.
