Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for providing a user interface. The apparatus for providing a user interface, includes a controller operating such that a lock image with respect to at least a partial user interface and an object for changing a lock state to a release state are displayed on a screen, and a touch sensor sensing a first contact of a touch gesture on the object, wherein the controller determines a distance between the object and a second contact of the touch gesture with respect to the first contact on the object, and changes the lock state to the release state and the removes the lock image from the screen when the distance between the object and the second contact of the touch gesture is greater than a preset threshold.

Abstract: A list display method and apparatus are disclosed. The list display method, for a terminal having a display unit, includes detecting a necessity for displaying a list, classifying list items into viewable items and aggregated items, displaying the viewable items in the list view region and displaying information regarding the aggregated items in the list aggregate region. Responsive to inputs aggregate items may be classified as viewable items and corresponding ones of the viewable items are classified as aggregate items.
