  • Patent number: 10248235
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a display apparatus including a panel in which a display operation and a touch sensing operation occur during one frame, and a controller is configured to drive the panel during the display operation and the touch sensing operation. The controller performs an initialization operation during each of the display operation and the touch sensing operation. The initialization operation is performed (i) before a start of the display operation and/or after an end of the display operation, and (ii) before a start of the touch sensing operation and/or after an end of the touch sensing operation.

  • Patent number: 7358939
Abstract: An organic light-emitting diode display driver adjusts the display scan period of the current driving the organic light-emitting diodes of a selected row based upon the sum of the display data corresponding to the selected row, thereby removing crosstalk in the OLED display panel. The driver includes an adder for adding the display data corresponding to the selected row and a scan period look-up table storing display scan period values. The scan period look-up table is configured such that it outputs display scan period values substantially proportional or inversely proportional to the sum of the display data to remove bright crosstalk or dark crosstalk, respectively, in the OLED display panel.

  • Publication number: 20070279333
Abstract: An OLED driver circuit includes a plurality of current sources, where each current source comprises a first reference current generation circuit generating a first reference current, a second reference current generation circuit generating a second reference current, a first set of transistors coupled to the first reference current generation circuit and generating a first drive current based upon the first reference current in response to a first part of display data, and a second set of transistors coupled to the second reference current generation circuit and generating a second drive current based upon the second reference current in response to a second part of the display data. The first drive current and the second drive current are combined to generate the column drive current for driving OLED coupled to the column associated with said each current source. The second reference current is greater than the first reference current.

  • Patent number: 7298351
Abstract: A driver includes a plurality of variable resistors each coupled to a corresponding one of the rows of the organic light-emitting diode display panel, generally between Ground (GND) and the cathodes of the OLEDs on the rows. A variable resistor controller in the driver is coupled to the variable resistors, and adjusts the resistance of the variable resistor coupled to the selected row based upon the display data corresponding to the selected row. The variable resistor controller adjusts the resistance of the variable resistor coupled to the selected row to be inversely proportional to the sum of the display data corresponding to the selected row.

  • Patent number: 7046222
Abstract: A single scan driver for an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display is disclosed, that can reduce the required power consumption. By connecting together both ends of each column line so that a single driver circuit can drive both ends of each column line together, the column line resistance is reduced, resulting in a significant reduction in power consumption.

  • Patent number: 6331847
Abstract: TFT-LCD devices having improved data line driver circuits therein comprise an follower amplifier which drives a data line of a panel “hard” during a first portion of a selection time interval (when a strong pull-up or pull-down is required) and a transmission gate which performs a “soft” pull-up or pull-down of the data line to a desired gray level voltage during a second portion of the selection time interval. The “soft” pull-up or pull-down can be utilized to reduce the offset margins of gray level voltages to within ±5 mV.
