    Abstract: A novel photoactive compound is provided. The photoactive compound has a structure represented by Formula 1: wherein R1, R2, R3, A, X, Y, n and m are as defined in the specification. The photoactive compound efficiently absorbs UV light. Accordingly, the photoactive compound has an improved ability to generate radicals and is efficiently photopolymerized with unsaturated bonds. Further provided is a photosensitive resin composition comprising the photoactive compound. The photosensitive resin composition has good sensitivity because it efficiently absorbs UV light. In addition, the photosensitive resin composition has excellent characteristics in terms of residual film ratio, mechanical strength and resistance to heat, chemicals and development. Therefore, the photosensitive resin composition is advantageously used in curing materials for column spacers, overcoats and passivation films of liquid crystal display devices.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing a polymerized toner. In the method, a mixture of colloidal silica as an aqueous dispersant and a polyvinylpyrrolidone is used during suspension polymerization. The amount of polyvinylpyrrolidone/colloidal silica aggregates having a diameter smaller than 100 nm is also limited to 1% by weight or less, based on the total weight of all aggregates. A polymerized toner produced by the method has a volume average particle diameter (dv) of 5 to 10 ?m and a volume average particle diameter/number average particle diameter ratio (dv/dp) of 1.5 or less. The polymerized toner is consumed in a small amount during printing. According to the method, the formation of emulsion particles having a size smaller than 0.5 ?m is inhibited.

    Abstract: A polymerized toner is provided. The polymerized toner has cores containing polyvinylidene fluoride particles. The polyvinylidene fluoride particles have an average particle diameter of 1.1 to 1.5 ?m and a melting temperature (Tm) of 140 to 160° C. The polyvinylidene fluoride particles are distributed at a higher concentration near the surface of the cores. This distribution improves the affinity of the cores for silica as an external additive to achieve an increased amount of surface charge and improved transfer efficiency of the polymerized toner.     Abstract: A polymerized toner is provided. The polymerized toner comprises a reactive anionic surfactant having at least one reactive functional group. The reactive anionic surfactant is added simultaneously with a dispersant to prepare an aqueous dispersion or is added within 2 hour after a polymerization reaction of a monomer mixture is initiated in an aqueous dispersion. This simultaneous or rapid addition allows the reactive anionic surfactant to be dispersed on the surface of the toner particles. The reactive anionic surfactant is located over the entire surface of the toner particles to increase the surface charge density of the toner, achieving good charge stability and excellent imaging characteristics.

    Abstract: Provided is a non-magnetic mono-component color toner with improved charge properties by surface modification with a charge control agent. The color toner is prepared by spheroidizing toner core particles including a binder and a colorant in the presence of 0.5 to 3 parts by weight of a charge control agent and coating the resultant spherical toner core particles with a first spherical organic powder with an average particle size of 50 to 120 nm, a second spherical organic powder with an average particle size of 600 to 1,000 nm, silica with an average particle size of 5 to 20 nm, and titanium dioxide with an average particle size of 300 to 1,000 nm. The color toner exhibits excellent surface charge properties (e.g., a narrow charge distribution, high chargeability, and good charge maintenance capability), thereby ensuring low image/background contamination, high transfer efficiency, good image density and long-term stability.
