Patent number: 12216001Abstract: A device and a method for detecting a light irradiating angle are disclosed. The device, used to detect the incident direction of a light ray, includes a solar sensor and a processor. The sensing unit of the solar sensor has sensing areas. The sensing areas correspondingly generate sensing signals based on the intensity of the light ray. A mask covers the sensing unit and has an X-shaped light transmitting portion. The light ray transmits the X-shaped light transmitting portion to form an X-axis light ray and a Y-axis light ray. The X-axis light ray intersects the Y-axis light ray. The X-axis light ray and the Y-axis light ray fall on the sensing area. The processor, coupled to the sensing unit, receives the sensing signals and determines information of the incident direction according to the sensing signals.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2022Date of Patent: February 4, 2025Assignee: National Yang Ming Chiao Tung UniversityInventors: Mang Ou-Yang, Yung-Jhe Yan, Guan-Yu Huang, Tse Yu Cheng, Chang-Hsun Liu, Yu-Siou Liu, Ying-Wen Jan, Chen-Yu Chan, Tung-Yun Hsieh

Publication number: 20250017199Abstract: A biomimetic waterfowl includes a housing, two waterfowl legs, and a driving module. The waterfowl legs are spaced apart from each other in a left-right direction and are mounted to a bottom portion of the housing. Each waterfowl leg includes a first segment mounted to the housing and rotatable about a first axis parallel to the left-right direction, and a second segment rotatable about a second axis parallel to the first axis. The driving module is mounted to the housing and is configured to drive the waterfowl legs. Each of the waterfowl legs is movable between a retracted state, where the first segment extends forwardly from the housing and the second segment extends rearwardly from the first segment, and a propelling state, where the first segment extends rearwardly from the housing and the second segment extends rearwardly from the first segment.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2023Publication date: January 16, 2025Inventors: Wei-Yu HUANG, Chang-Qi ZHANG, Guan-Hao PAN, Li-Yuan YEH, Tai-Yu CHEN, Ching-Hung LIU, Chih-Wei SHEN, Ching-Shu LAI

Publication number: 20080167534Abstract: The present invention discloses an information collecting apparatus for collecting physiological parameters and the method is applied in the information collecting apparatus. When the information collecting apparatus receives a user's physiological parameter and determines that the physiological parameter does fall within the range of a monitoring limit value registered in the information collecting apparatus, then the information collecting apparatus will send a notice to a management server, so that the personnel, organization or department at the management server is able to monitor the user's health condition and select the most appropriate time to take actions and provide appropriate medical treatments for the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 4, 2007Publication date: July 10, 2008Applicant: National Yang-Ming UniversityInventors: Shuenn-Tsong Young, Chung-Wang Lee, Tsair Kao, Chang-Yu Liu, Chih-Wei Hsu, Xin-Hua Zhang
