  • Patent number: 8054507
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image data luminance compensating method and a sheet-feeding scanning apparatus using such an image data luminance compensating method. According to the reference luminance value change of the reference background strip before and after the current document passes through the scan operating region, the luminance gain associated with compensation of the image data of the next document is determined.

  • Patent number: 7978381
Abstract: An automatic document feeder includes an input tray, a transfer path, a roller assembly, an ejecting tray, a light emitter, a light receiver, a comparator and a discriminating unit. The light emitter successively emits multiple light beams of different intensities to the document. When the multiple light beams penetrating through the document are received by the light receiver, the light receiver outputs corresponding voltage signals. The discriminating unit is electrically connected to the light receiver for discriminating document types according to the voltage levels of the voltage signals.

  • Patent number: 7733519
Abstract: The present invention relates to a compensation method for compensating digital image data generated from a scanning module of a scanner when the luminance of a lamp tube is unstable. Several compensating gains are computed according to the luminance values of a reference white plate so as to compensate the digital image data. The method of the present invention is implemented by software in a computer.

  • Publication number: 20070279713
Abstract: A contact image sensor includes a first optical sensing element and at least one additional optical sensing element. The first optical sensing element includes plural optical sensing units arranged in a line along a first direction. Plural first image units are successively generated when the first optical sensing element senses a first source light. The at least one additional optical sensing element is disposed at a lateral side of the first optical sensing element, and includes plural optical sensing units arranged in a line along the first direction. When the additional optical sensing element senses an additional source light, plural additional image units are successively generated. The adjacent optical sensing units of the first optical sensing element and the at least one additional optical sensing element are partially overlapped with each other along a second direction, which is perpendicular to the first direction.
