  • Publication number: 20230403123
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration indicating a mapping between a set of multiple subband indices and a set of multiple encoding parameter sets. The UE may apply, at a first distribution matcher, a first encoding parameter set to a first subset of a bit stream. The UE may also apply, at a second distribution matcher, a second encoding parameter set to a second subset of the bit stream. The a first encoding parameter set may be associated with a first subband index and the second encoding parameter set may be associated with a second subband index. The UE may then transmit a first modulated bit stream on a first subband, and a second modulated bit stream on a second subband.

  • Publication number: 20230396355
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A rateless code may be used to generate n encoded packets based on a set of source packets. A modulation technique may be used to generate first symbol packets from the encoded packets. And a layered modulation technique may be used to generate coded symbol packets from the first symbol packets. The layered modulation technique may include generating a coded symbol packet from a group of first symbol packets. Different weights may be applied to the different first symbol packets included in the group of first symbol packets before the first symbol packets in the group are combined together. A receiving device may demodulate the transmitted coded symbol packets to reconstruct the group of first symbol packets, use the reconstructed group of first symbol packets to recover the encoded packets, and use the encoded packets to reconstruct the source packets.

  • Publication number: 20230389010
Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to multiplexing of uplink control information (UCI) and configured grant-UCI (CG-UCI) of different priorities are provided. A user equipment (UE) determines that a first resource for an uplink transmission associated with a first priority at least partially overlaps with a second resource for a first configured grant-physical uplink shared channel (CG-PUSCH) transmission associated with a second priority different from the first priority. The UE determines whether the first priority is higher than the second priority. In response to determining whether the first priority is higher than the second priority, the UE transmits one of the uplink transmission in the first resource or the first CG-PUSCH transmission in the second resource and refrains from transmitting the other one of the uplink transmission in the first resource or the first CG-PUSCH transmission in the second resource.

  • Patent number: 11791936
Abstract: Wireless devices may use polar codes for encoding transmissions and may support combining transmissions to improve decoding reliability (e.g., by achieving chase combining and incremental redundancy (IR) gains). For example, an encoding device may puncture a set of mother code bits using different puncturing patterns to obtain different redundancy versions for a first transmission and a re-transmission. Each puncturing pattern may correspond to an equivalent decoding performance. In some cases, to obtain equivalent puncture sets, the encoding device may perform punctured index manipulation procedures on an initial puncturing pattern. A punctured index manipulation procedure may involve switching a binary state for a binary bit at a same binary bit index for each puncture index in a puncturing pattern. A device may receive the transmissions generated using the equivalent puncture sets and may combine the information for improved decoding reliability.

  • Publication number: 20230327821
Abstract: Dynamic grants (DG) for retransmission by a user equipment (UE) use the communication resource more efficiently while configured grants (CG) for retransmission by the UE reduce overhead and latency. A base station (BS) uses radio resource control signaling to configure the UE with a retransmission timer or without a retransmission timer. The BS transmits to the UE a set of CG configurations configuring a set of configured grant uplink (CG-UL) processes. The set of CG configurations includes information indicating whether or not a cg-RetransmissionTimer is associated with the CG-UL processes. The BS is also configured to receive communication on UL from the UE. The communication from the UE is received based on the set of CG-UL processes and the indication whether or not a cg-RetransmissionTimer is associated with the CG-UL processes.
