  • Publication number: 20260228866
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for generating a noise model for a depth camera, the method including, in one or more processing devices: acquiring data from the depth camera, the data being captured by performing measurements of a reference surface at multiple different known depths, wherein for each known depth, data are captured at multiple different known surface angles; analysing the data captured at each known depth at each known surface angle to calculate measurement errors indicative of variations in depth measurements; and, calculating a noise model by fitting the measurement errors to at least one function representing relationships between measurement errors and, measurement depths and surface angles, as a combination of bivariate exponential and bivariate polynomial functions, wherein the noise model is usable in analysing depth measurements performed using the depth camera.

  • Patent number: 11476795
Abstract: A method for determining a level of solar radiation at a point of interest (POI). Multiple sky images are captured by a distributed network of digital cameras. Sun location parameters are determined. A three-dimensional (3D) sky model is generated based on the sky images. Generating the 3D sky model includes generating 3D object data based on the sky images to model one or more objects in a region of sky, and generating position data to model a position of the one or more objects in the region of sky. A level of solar radiation at the POI is determined based on the position data and 3D object data of the 3D sky model and the sun location parameters.

  • Patent number: 8463065
Abstract: A method of extracting linear features from an image, the method including the steps of: (a) applying a non maximum suppression filter to the image for different angles of response to produce a series of filtered image responses; (b) combining the filtered image responses into a combined image having extracted linear features.
