  • Publication number: 20170272653
Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) recording and communication doorbell, including a camera, a speaker, a microphone, a power manager, a battery, an AC/DC rectifier, and a DC/DC converter. The doorbell is configured for connection to an external AC power source through the AC/DC rectifier and the DC/DC converter. The power manager is configured to draw power, up to a threshold power, from the AC power source and to draw supplemental power from the battery such that the power drawn from the AC power source never exceeds the threshold power. The present A/V recording and communication doorbell can thus be connected to an existing household AC power supply and an existing doorbell signaling device without causing inadvertent sounding of the signaling device.

  • Publication number: 20170272706
Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) recording and communication doorbell comprises a camera, a front button, and a motion sensor. The camera and the motion sensor are configured to work in tandem to detect motion in a field of view of the A/V recording and communication doorbell, such that a first one of the camera and the motion sensor detects motion and the other one of the camera and the motion sensor independently verifies the motion detection before an alert is sent to a user's client device. In this manner, user alerts from false alarm motion detections are reduced.

  • Patent number: 9524426
Abstract: A human monitoring system includes a plurality of cameras and a visual processor. The plurality of cameras are disposed about a workspace area, where each camera is configured to capture a video feed that includes a plurality of image frames, and the plurality of image frames are time-synchronized between the respective cameras. The visual processor is configured to receive the plurality of image frames from the plurality of vision-based imaging devices and detect the presence of a human from at least one of the plurality of image frames using pattern matching performed on an input image. The input image to the pattern matching is a sliding window portion of the image frame that is aligned with a rectified coordinate system such that a vertical axis in the workspace area is aligned with a vertical axis of the input image.

  • Publication number: 20160191864
Abstract: A device for communicating including a housing including a camera, a microphone, a speaker, a button, a battery, a sensor, non-volatile memory, a processor, and a wireless communications module, wherein the non-volatile memory stores code operable by the processor for switching the processor from low-power mode to active mode in response to an activation trigger, receiving, from the one of the microphone and the camera, outbound audio and video signals, then sending a signal to a server via the wireless communications module during active mode, the signal including one or more of an alert signal, a signal based on the outbound audio signal, and a signal based on the outbound video signal, receiving from the server an inbound audio signal and outputting a signal based on the inbound audio signal via the speaker, and switching the processor from active mode to low-power mode in response to a deactivation trigger.

  • Publication number: 20160180546
Abstract: A method includes receiving image data at a first tracking system. The image data may represent a region in an image of a sequence of images. The method includes generating a first tracking fingerprint based on the image data. The method includes comparing the first tracking fingerprint and a second tracking fingerprint. The method further includes providing an output from the first tracking system to a second tracking system based on a result of the comparison of the first tracking fingerprint and the second tracking fingerprint.

  • Publication number: 20160180197
Abstract: A method includes receiving first tracking data and a first confidence value at a tracker selection system from a first tracking system. The method includes receiving second tracking data and a second confidence value at the tracker selection system from a second tracking system. The tracking systems may be configured to track an object in a sequence of images, and the first and second tracking data may indicate locations of regions where the corresponding tracking system has tracked the object in an image of the sequence of images. The confidence values may indicate likelihoods that a corresponding tracking system is tracking the object. The method further includes providing output data to the first tracking system and to the second tracking system. The output data may include data selected from the first tracking data and the second tracking data based on a result of a comparison of the confidence values.
