The first port belongs to a first port set or a second port set, a reference signal corresponding to a port in the first port set corresponds to a first cover code on the first resource and the second resource, a reference signal corresponding to a port in the second port set corresponds to a second cover code on the first resource and the second resource, and the first cover code is different from the second cover code.

The method includes: When a first index of a first signal is the same as a first index corresponding to first indication information, a terminal device may communicate the first signal based on a first spatial parameter indicated by the first indication information. The first spatial parameter may be for communicating at least two types of signals/channels. For example, the first indication information may be a unified TCI. Therefore, according to the method, in a scenario in which a spatial parameter for a signal/channel is indicated by the unified TCI, a spatial parameter used for a to-be-sent signal/channel can be accurately determined, and the communication reliability can be improved.
