Abstract: P-selectin targeting ligand molecules are provided as well as compositions, including kits, which comprise such P-selectin targeting ligand molecules, such composition being useful for use as pharmaceutical formulations which can be administered safely and effectively and as diagnostic formulations.

Abstract: Polyhydroxy phenols, which are non-peptidic mimetics of galloyl peptides, and a process for the preparation of gallic acid derivatives using a gallic-acid providing moiety are provided as well as polyhydroxy phenol-containing pharmaceutical and nutraceutical compositions. The use of polyhydroxy phenols as a medicament and especially for the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention, treatment or diagnosis of a disease or a condition, wherein P-selectin is involved, is provided. The same compounds can also be used as targeting tools to P-selectin expressing cells or tissues in a composition, further comprising an active compound in a vehicle.

Abstract: The present invention relates to derivatives of compounds which bind selectively to the adhesion molecule human P-selectin, and particularly to such derivatives which comprise a peptide moiety or a functional equivalent of said peptide moiety and are represented by X(Ax)mA3A1A2A1Y. In addition, the invention relates to methods for preparing such compounds, to the use of such compounds in therapeutic or diagnostic methods and in pharmaceutical compositions, to binding molecules binding to said compounds and to a method for determining whether a compound is capable of binding to P-selectin.

Abstract: The present invention relates to certain glucose-based compounds that have an affinity to P-selectin. Further, the invention relates to the use of these glucose-based compounds for the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of disorders associated with P-selectin, to conjugates, pharmaceutical carriers and drug delivery systems comprising said compounds, and to a method for determining whether a compound is capable of binding to P-selectin.
