  • Patent number: 4735991
Abstract: A process is provided for coating an electrically conductive substrate with an aqueous composition containing a cationic binder wherein the binder is obtained by polymerization of 100 parts by weight of a specified monomer mixture in the presence of 0.25 to 4 parts by weight of an acrylic or methacrylic bisphenol ester. The invention also pertains to the aqueous composition as such.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 2, 1987
Date of Patent: April 5, 1988
    Assignee: Akzo NV
Inventors: Chantal H. Guioth, Etienne G. Maze, Loick P. Rabajoie
  • Patent number: 4735989
Abstract: A process is provided for coating an electrically conductive substrate with an aqueous coating composition containing a cationic binder wherein the binder is obtained by polymerization of 100 parts by weight of a specific monomer mixture in the presence of 1-20 parts by weight of an epoxy group-free adduct of a bisphenol bisglycidyl ether and an ethylenically unsaturated amido amine. The ethylenically unsaturated amido amine, in turn, is the product of a polyamine having 1-2 primary amino groups and 1-2 secondary amino groups and an ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid having 18-24 carbon atoms. The invention also pertains to the aqueous coating composition as such.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 29, 1987
Date of Patent: April 5, 1988
    Assignee: Akzo NV
Inventors: Chantal H. Guioth, Etienne G. Maze, Jean J. Trescol
  • Patent number: 4732788
Abstract: A process is provided for coating an electrically conductive substrate with an aqueous coating composition containing a cationic binder wherein the binder is obtained by polymerization of 100 parts by weight of a specified monomer mixture in the presence of 0.5 to 25 parts by weight of a polyurethane having 2-5 acryloyl groups or methacryloyl groups, a molecular weight of 400-7000 and a molecular weight per (meth)acryloyl group of at least 200. The invention also pertains to the aqueous composition as such.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 7, 1986
Date of Patent: March 22, 1988
    Assignee: Akzo NV

  • Patent number: 4728686
Abstract: A process is provided for coating an electrically conductive substrate with an aqueous coating composition containing a cationic binder wherein the binder is obtained by polymerization of 100 parts by weight of a specified monomer mixture in the presence of 1-45 parts by weight of a polymer built up of 70-100% by weight of 1,3-butadiene and 0-30% by weight of a copolymerizable monomer, having a number average molecular weight of 460-5400. The invention also pertains to the aqueous coating composition as such.
