Abstract: A motion estimation method for determining a resultant motion vector. The motion estimation method includes: performing a first searching operation starting from an initial motion vector to determine an intermediate motion vector, wherein the first searching operation is performed according to a first searching principle; and performing a second searching operation starting from the intermediate motion vector, to determine the resultant motion vector, wherein the second searching operation is performed according to a second searching principle. The first searching operation is a rough search, while the second searching operation is a fine search.

Abstract: A method for compressing a video data having a plurality of frames, each frame having a plurality of macroblocks, includes calculating the complexity of a target macroblock in a target frame; calculating a bit budget for the target macroblock according to the complexity of the target macroblock and the complexity of at least one macroblock in a preceding frame; calculating a quantization parameter for the target macroblock based on its bit budget; and compressing the target macroblock according to the quantization parameter.

Abstract: A memory storage method for improving efficiency of image processing. The method includes: storing a plurality of first blocks corresponding to a first picture region of a picture into a first storage region of a memory, storing a plurality of second blocks corresponding to a second picture region of the picture into a second storage region of the memory, and storing at least one second block corresponding to a part of the second picture region adjacent to the first picture region into the first storage region.

Abstract: An injection needle melting/destroying device comprising an A(D)C power supply, a power indicator lamp, a transformer having output terminals, two opposite metal plates disposed beside the output terminals of the transformer to define a socket, a collection box disposed under the metal plates and a brush disposed above the metal plates. An injection needle is adapted to be inserted into the socket to make a short circuit so as to produce great current for melting the injection needle. The brush serves to cover the socket and prevent spark from splashing outside the socket during the melting operation.
