  • Publication number: 20070281503
Abstract: A method for repairing a conductive structure of a circuit board is proposed. The method is implemented by performing a micro-depositing process or a micro-plating process on a surface of at least a contact pad of a circuit board without having a conductive structure formed thereon through micro-droplet or micro-electrode technique, thereby forming a conductive structure on the surface of the at least one left-out contact pad of the circuit board. As a result, the fabrication yield is increased, and extra time and costs spent on reworking the circuit board can be avoided as compared with the prior art.

  • Patent number: 7168819
Abstract: A backlight module having a light diffusing device is disclosed, comprising a frame, a reflecting plate, a top plate and at least one light source module, in which the reflecting plate having an upper surface is mounted on a bottom side of the frame and the top plate is mounted on a top side of the frame to space a predetermined distance from the reflecting plate. The light source module is mounted on the upper surface of the reflecting plate, including a light source and a light diffusing device mounted between the light source and the top plate. The light diffusing device has an un-uniform thickness which is inversely proportional to the distance between the light source and the top plate. Thus, the problem of non-uniform luminance distribution caused by a change in the distance between the light source and the top plate is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 7171360
Abstract: A speaker identification system includes a speaker model generator 110 for generating a plurality of speaker models. To this end, the generator records training utterances from a plurality of speakers in the background, without prior knowledge of the speakers who spoke the utterances. The generator performs a blind clustering of the training utterances based on a predetermined criterion. For each of the clusters a corresponding speaker model is trained. A speaker identifier 130 identifies a speaker determining a most likely one of the speaker models for an utterance received from the speaker. The speaker associated with the most likely speaker model is identified as the speaker of the test utterance.

  • Patent number: 6865531
Abstract: A speech processing system, such as a speech recognition or speech coding system, is capable for processing a degraded speech input signal. The system includes an input for receiving the degraded speech input signal. Means 420 are used for estimating a condition, such as the signal-to-noise ratio or bandwidth, of the received input signal. Means 430 are used means for selecting a processing model which corresponds to the estimated signal condition. The model may be retrieved from a storage 440 with models for different signal conditions. Means 430 are also operable to estimate an originally uttered speech signal based on the received input signal and to process the estimated original signal according to the selected model.

  • Publication number: 20020089971
Abstract: To practice the invention, an IPCS company such as ADXLINK replaces traditional payphones with Public Web Payphones. Each Public Web Payphone becomes an IPCS gateway using the traditional POTS phone line or a cable line to allow a high speed Internet connection. The Public Web Payphones work like traditional payphones and have the same footprint, which minimizes disruption to the public place. Each Public Web Payphone holds a computer, preferably an industry standard personal computer (PC) to allow easy component upgrade and repair. The PC platform can support various wireless Internet devices as well as an LCD touch screen. The PC allows a user access to Internet services such as e-mail, instant messaging service, and mobile commerce (m-commerce) applications. The Public Web Payphones are connected to a network of other Public Web Payphones and associated media advertising systems to create an Electronic Media Advertising System.

  • Patent number: 6022157
Abstract: The present invention relates to a key structure of a keyboard for easy grease injection. The key structure comprises a top cover installed with a supporting structure, a key cap, and a link bar. The supporting structure comprises two hooks at two sides. Each hook comprises a plate structure on its top portion and a horizontal sliding slot below the plate structure. The key cap comprises two clamps installed on a bottom side of the key cap. The link bar comprises two upper ends installed in the two clamps, and two lower ends installed in the horizontal sliding slots. Each of the plate structures comprises an injection hole. The injection hole is positioned so that grease can be injected into the horizontal sliding slot below the plate structure through the injection hole so as to reduce the friction between one lower end of the link bar and the horizontal sliding slot of the hook when the lower end of the link bar slides in the horizontal sliding slot.
