  • Publication number: 20060180467
Abstract: An electrochemical biosensor strip has a base, an electrode system, an optional spacer and a cover. The electrode system is laid on the base. The spacer is laid on the electrode system and exposes a portion of the electrode system for electrical connection with a meter and a different portion of the electrode system for application of a test reagent that is a reagent that is specific for the test to be performed by the strip. The cover is covered on the spacer to form a cavity. The spacer has an exhausting channel for exiting air such that receiving rate for drawing an analyte-containing fluid into the strip is increasing. Besides, the electrochemical biosensor strip may have a concave unit formed in the cover and corresponding to the test reagent for increasing receiving angles to draw an analyte-containing fluid into the strip such that the flow rate of the analyte-containing fluid is increasing so the test is more accurate.

  • Publication number: 20060182658
Abstract: An intelligent biosensing meter has a parameter storing unit stored a plurality of parameters that sample strips detection needed and at least one slot for receiving a sample strip or a code card. The code card can store a plurality of parameters therein that are not stored in the parameter storing unit. Therefore, the intelligent biosensing meter not only stores parameters therein but also receives the code card to store new parameter or download new parameter from an internet. Manufacturers can save budget for manufacturing code cards if parameters stored in the biosensing meter are suitable for testing a new batch of sample strip or download from the internet. Furthermore, the intelligent biosensing meter can insert different kind of cards or strips into one slot and recognize them by circuit design to control different functions. The biosensing meter of the present invention will decrease manufacturing cost and be operated easily.

  • Publication number: 20060070878
Abstract: An electrochemical biosensor strip has a base, an electrode system, a spacer and a cover. The electrode system is laid on the base and preferably comprises at least three electrodes. There is a short circuit formed between two selected electrodes of the at least three electrodes. The spacer is laid on the electrode system and exposes a portion of the electrode system for electrical connection with a meter and a different portion of the electrode system for application of a test reagent to those exposed surfaces of electrode system. The test reagent is a reagent that is specific for the test to be performed by the strip. The cover is covered on the spacer. The short circuit is used to switch on a meter for increasing the operative convenience and further used to recognize the suitable meter. The electrochemical biosensor strip may have a rough unit formed on the base for increasing the adhesion of the test reagent for the test to be performed by the strip.

  • Publication number: 20060074324
Abstract: A biosensing meter plus blood pressure measuring apparatus has a slot, an inflatable and deflatable cuff, a pressure sensor and a microprocessor. The slot is able to accept a code card with multiple parameters or a sample strip that comprises a reaction well and a plurality of electrodes thereon in contact with the reaction well. The pressure sensor is used for detecting arterial counterpressure pulses and oscillations at each of the cuff pressure deflating process. The microprocessor is used for controlling the cuff, converting counterpressure pulses and oscillations to voltage signals, processing the voltage signals into a sequence of peak amplitudes and determining a systolic pressure and a diastolic pressure. Furthermore, the microprocessor is used for reading multiple parameters in the code card to measure an analyte in an analyte-containing fluid and calculating a concentration of the analyte.

  • Publication number: 20030073924
Abstract: A card type body fat measuring device provided with only one pair of conductive electrodes being contacted to each one finger of both hands and further cooperated a multi-frequency power source for measurement is disclosed. The present device approaches a frequency-resistance theory to obtain a formula for calculating the measured impedance by an experimental simulation. Regarding to the appearance of the present device, it differs from the conventional one with two pairs of electrodes. Furthermore, the present device has neat circuit layout design and a chipset assembling main circuit units, which is based on the two electrodes and multi-frequency measuring to provide an accurate measurement and a cost-effective production.

  • Patent number: 6475154
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for non-invasive blood-pressure measurement performing step-by-step inflating and deflating of the cuff pressure are disclosed. The step-by-step inflation-and-deflation process of the invention can determine the highest inflating pressure and provide enough data to obtain a curve fitting envelope. Therefore, the inflation pressure of the cuff to be pumped much higher than the normal systolic pressure of the conventional method can be prevented. A comfortable systolic and diastolic pressure determination method applying fuzzy control is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6458085
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for oscillometric blood-pressure measurement taking heart pulses for reference to determine the systolic and diastolic pressure are disclosed. The cuff is merely inflated to a cuff pressure above the mean arterial pressure of the artery. Therefore, the inflation pressure of the cuff to be pumped much higher than the normal systolic pressure of the conventional method can be prevented. A comfortable systolic and diastolic pressure determination method applying fuzzy control is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6076962
Abstract: This invention relates to an infrared probe of a thermometer. The infrared probe does not need a waveguide to contact with a sensor for transmitting heat. The infrared probe consists of a sensor unit disposed on a sensor base and surrounded by an isolation unit. Standing at this forefront, the sensor unit can detect the infrared rays directly to lead a precise measurement. Moreover, the cost will be reduced without disposing a waveguide tube on the sensor.
