  • Publication number: 20160343389
Abstract: A voice control system including a voice receiving unit, an image capturing unit, a storage unit and a control unit is disclosed. The voice receiving unit receives a voice. The image capturing unit captures a video image stream including several human face images. The storage unit stores the voice and the video image stream. The control unit is electrically connected to the voice receiving unit, the image capturing unit and the storage unit. The control unit detects a feature of a human face from the human face images, defines a mouth motion detection region from the feature of the human face, and generates a control signal according to a variation of the mouth motion detection region and a variation of the voice over time. A voice control method, a computer program product and a computer readable medium are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7221350
Abstract: A method of reducing flickering and inhomogeneous brightness in an LCD. The method serially connects each scan line connecting a plurality of pixels in a row with a resistor to form a scan line circuit. The resistor is connected between the first pixel of the scan line and the voltage input terminal of the scan line, so that the gate voltage entering the TFT in the first pixel deforms. The voltage of the TFT decreases when it is turned off, minimizing screen flickering and inhomogeneous brightness due to the capacitor charge coupling effect between the first pixel and the last pixel on a scan line.

  • Patent number: 6982775
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) having reduced flicker includes a plurality of signal lines, a plurality of scanning lines, and a plurality of pixels. Each pixel includes a liquid crystal cell having a pixel electrode, a storage capacitor, and a switching transistor. The switching transistor includes a gate electrode connected to one of the scanning lines, a drain electrode connected to one of the signal lines, and a source electrode connected to the pixel electrode. An overlapping region is between the gate electrode and the source electrode. The area of the overlapping region increases by increasing the distance between an input end of the scanning line corresponding to the overlapping region and the pixel electrode corresponding to the overlapping region.

  • Patent number: 6982690
Abstract: A display apparatus includes a first scan line; a first data line perpendicular to the first scan line; a first pixel, a second pixel, and a third pixel which are adjacent and coupled to the same data line respectively; and a first switching device, a second switching device, and a third switching device set in the first, second, and third pixels respectively. The data signals can be selectively input into the corresponding pixels from the first data line by enabling/disabling the corresponding scan lines.

  • Patent number: 6809718
Abstract: A thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) capable of adjusting its light source utilizes at least one thin film transistor (TFT) disposed in a peripheral region of a bottom substrate as a photo sensor for detecting ambient illumination. Then, a light source modulator can enhance, weaken, open or close the light source of the TFT-LCD to an optimal brightness level that depends on the ambient illumination spontaneously.

  • Patent number: 6806934
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) includes a dielectric multilayer formed inside an LCD cell and a light source behind the LCD cell wherein an image is generated by the LCD in accordance with input video signals when either ambient light is incident on the surface of the dielectric multilayer or when light is generated by the light source. The LCD cell has a first substrate and a second substrate being located facing each other with a liquid crystal layer therebetween. The dielectric multilayer includes multiple layers of transparent dielectric materials with different refractive index. In the LCD of the present invention, since the dielectric multilayer is formed inside the LCD cell, the light only passes through one of the substrates in the reflective mode thereby increasing efficiency while meeting the need for low power consumption.
